Alert | What is going on in AZ. Police are parking their vans everywhere and clicking photographs. I have been clicked 3 times in last week and I dont even know for what it was. Is it a survey. Is it some offense. Does anybody have an idea. I was on 1-10 today near the chandler exit and the speed limit there was 65. I was on left most lane and the car in front of me was at 59. There was this huge truck on my right and i was right in its blind spot and i just wanted to go ahead. I gave a small honk to the car in front of me (who was on 59 on leftmost lane) to go ahead. And then i saw a police car on the shoulder flash. Was it on me, on the car ahead of me, dont know. Is honking an offense on 1-10, which is a non school zone The day before yesterday, there was a police car on warner, clicking . I again dont know why becuase i was 47, on 45.

Alert | The vans or other vehicles on the side of the roads and freeways are for photo enforcement only. IF they had any way of monitoring noise, my friends and I on our motorcycles would get flashed all of the time if they were sensitive enough for a car horn on a busy freeway.
When they first started implementing the photoradar vans and cameras they would flash if you were going 5+mph over the limit but no tickets were given and that was awhile ago. The last I heard is that photoradar vans and the cameras (on the 101) give you an 11mph buffer. I am not sure about the new cameras that double as red light/photoradar cameras at some intersections.
Even though you say weren't speeding...(but have been flashed 3 times in 1 week??) beware of solicitors, they could be handing you a couple of very nice pictures of you driving.

Alert | My guess is you may have been too close for comfort on I-10 and the officer was giving you a "honk" to warn you to back off. I had a friend who was following us in his car while we were driving on a road trip through New Mexico and he was pulled over and ticketed for tailgating our vehicle.
A guy at my work was just telling me that he got a ticket from one of the "clickers" hat are set up at a trffic light because he didn't com eto a full and complete stop before turning right at a red light.
But if it's true that you were the one being "clicked" I suppose you will find out soon if you get a ticket in the mail and exactly what for.

Alert | | You can actually get a ticket for honking your horn if it is not necessary. Look it up!

Alert | | According to a lawyer on Ankarlo Mornings, those photo radar tickets CAN be ignored. It has something to do with the fact that the tickets aren't SIGNED by anyone in authority and that the permanent cameras are operated by a PRIVATE company. I don't know if the same theory applies to the mobile vans as they are operated by DPS. | | "The seeds of self-destruction are sown in the shallowness of your mind."

As well you should be. The sign says 65mph. Drive over and you get a ticket. Is it really that hard to understand?

Alert | Cameras can not take into consideration of people needing to get over, passing people.. etc.
There is a big thing on one of the cameras on the I-10 east bound since there is on ramp right there, and people have to get over a few lanes to avoid a lane ends, and poeple are speeding past people to get over and getting busted.. Cops wouldn't give you a ticket for that.
