Around 1 PM today they had the two westbound Smith-Enke lanes closed between when it becomes divided and VRED.

I had read some article around 2 months ago. City of maricopa plans to put lights at the VRED/Smith-Enke intersection and the Honeycutt Rd/Maricopa Groves Pkwy intersection. Maybe they are putting in some connections for the lights.

No no no... This is construction for the new RED to CHANDLER super-duper-overpass. It is scheduled for completion next week and the toll fee will only be $0.25. Initial estimates are that it will reduce travel times by 94%.

I heard they were adding a fresh coat of Enke...its been a warm summer, which we all know tends to erode the Enke. Smith levels are being monitored closely.
