48.23 and I only have 4 cylinder. That is a lot for me. When I first got it I could fill it up for 20.00. I am thankful for the 10 cents off at Fry's right about now!

I can remember when I got my first car (1986 Trans Am) it cost .89 cents a gallon. $13 bucks would fill the tank for the week. I think everyone sits around a bit more due to gas.

$66.50, for 14.5 gallons. I get about 700 miles out of a tank, and about 48 mpg. I buy fuel every 2 or 3 weeks.

Prius huh? That is pretty impressive. Do you have a cloud plate? I wanted to get a Prius with one but they are done with that for now.

my last tank of gas (premium at that) was about 16 bucks...and 50ish miles a gallon.

Trying to get the better half to let me get one but she had a few friends hurt on them. So she is still saying no. Have to take the class to learn to ride one first LOL. I would love to have a $16 gas bill. How many gallons does it hold?

no prius. Diesel VW. I chose to go with an engine that has been around since the 1800's, and can run on vegetable oil. Plus VW has had diesels in the US market since the 1970's with a proven track record of efficiency and reliability.

I don't trust the hybrids yet. I bought this car to have for the next decade. I don't know if the prius will reliably make 10 years with reasonable prices and availability on parts.

I think its pretty absurd that a gasoline burning prius can get the "alternative fuel" plates, but someone driving a diesel using domestically grown and refined biodiesel can not.

its hard when you know people who have been hurt, but saving upwards of 200 bucks a month in gas, depending on your commute is a compelling argument. also...i have found that taking them for a ride is a great tool for convincing them as well. finally, its sometimes easier to get forgiveness, than it is to get permissions.

Id suggest the class regardless. I had been riding for quite a while when i took it, and still learned some cool stuff. plus, its a bonus not having to take the motorcycle skills test, that thing is a pain.

How many gallons does it hold?

holds something like 4.06 gallons...which is about average for a sport bike i think.

I will have to take the class and go from there. I rather not ask for forgiveness since the garage would be a bit warm to sleep in this time of year
