you are "slower traffic" is if the person behind you is going faster than you.. how hard is that?

Do what ever you want to do.. you go on and keep being some sick attention-whore who somehow gets off on "controlling" people behind you.. it won't change my driving habits... I'll keep right.. because it's my duty to be a driver with some common courtesy.. and quite frankly I don't have to justify my existence at the expense of others..

and TGuy.. are you serious? the last laugh? have you seen a map, lately? You STILL have 5-8 miles EAST to go before you hit I-10 to go WEST all the while you are "angling-in" towards Phx..

the last laugh? not in my case.. I live in the Villages.. even if they do punch a straight shot from Tortosa.. I'll be at Riggs before you even HIT I-10.. lol.

I think just the fact that no one uses Tortosa to get to anything else makes him a candidate for having the last laugh. At least Tortosa residents don't constantly complain about people driving through their neighborhood as a shortcut like many people closer to the 347 do. There are def. pros and cons to being closer to "civilization," or the freeway. And as a resident of Homestead, I for one cannot wait for another street leading to the 10, either. It would mean I would not have to travel 35-45 mph through town to get to a freeway; just having another way out of Maricopa would make things more bearable for everyone. I think we have a long wait for that, though, lol.

A solution would be to place traffic signals every two miles and if a radar detects a speeder it will turn the next light red thus slowing traffic. If someone knowingly speeds you can blame them for the delay otherwise traffic will move smoothly at the posted speed limit.

Great, so you really think someone who is speeding will be able to stop in time for a red light? And how many mph over would they have to be going to be considered speeding? Look for more accidents and fatalities if that ever happens. It's hard enough having just a few lights on that highway. A light every two miles defeats the purpose of a highway anyway; yeah, let's just slow down traffic even more by making the entire way to Phoenix just like surface streets. Not everyone drives 40 mph all the time.

Did anyone see the guy on the silver sport bike yesterday pointing out the signs to the slow drivers in the left lane? That guy was hilarious!

I do this all the time (I am not the guy on the silver sport bike), the problem I think im having is this; the people I am trying to get to read the signs DONT READ, OR EVEN SPEAK ONE IOTA OF ENGLISH!
I have seriously considered making some of my own signs that say the same exact things as the current ones, except en ESPANOL! You are a danger to us all.
Mexicans, especially their women, absolutely cannot drive a car!
The only ones worse are the chinese, and of course, their women.
good thing were not bulging at the seams with them here, or we would never get anywhere!
If you are terrified (or at least, made just the least bit uncomfortable) to drive a car, then you are the danger to the rest of us. Take the bus, and let the rest of that know how to drive get by.

I'll be the one pointing to the speed limit signs. It must be the same Mexicans and Chinese that can't read them either. Please make up some signs that state

What scares me is all of the people who posted that they set their cruise at 55. Most of the 347 is 65 so speed it up. You may be getting better gas mileage but you're actually causing more pollution because you're causing more people to stay on the road emitting exhaust for a longer period.

I previously had 1 trillion posts!

I set my cruise on 55moh all the time.  Not only do I get 56mpg+, I also don't ever pass anyone.  I am always in my own space as people drive right on by me.

I never get tailgated and I am never held up by the slow idiots in the left lane.

and more and more people are pulling in behind me and slowing down....sorry to cause fear in some, but I'm so much more relaxed while I drive now. Can I draft RichTig?

I am also completely relaxed.  No more trying to go 70+ in the left lane behind some retard playing cop and holding everyone up at 65mph or less.  I just sit back and enjoy the ride.  And I usually pull up right behind the people, who went zooming past me, at the light at SmithEnkhe.

Here's a rule of thumb I like to follow: If you get passed by a semi-truck on 347, in the right lane, you're driving too slow. Forcing a semi-truck to pass anyone can be an extremely dangerous situation, especially on 347. I know some semi-truck drivers blast down the freeways, but these guys are just trying to go 65 in a 65 (not talking about rush hour). If they can't, that's pretty sad.

Plenty of semi trucks drive well over 65mph on the 347.

I'm all for 60 or less in the right lane. I'm legal that way, and , all the fool speeders can have the left lane to waste fuel in. Life is better in the slow lane with an 80 mile daily commute.

Question:

Which is worse? 10 mph over the speed limit, or 10 mph under? From a legal standpoint, there is NO difference. BOTH are technically breaking the law, so why aren't both equally enforced?

OLD....my guess to your question would be because speeders tend to be the ones dodging in and out of traffic...which in my opinion is more dangerous then some fool driving like a turtle staying put in one lane

It's not against the law to go 10 mph under the speed LIMIT...  Of course unless there is a minimum speed LIMIT.  Just because it says 65, doesn't mean by law you must drive 65, you may drive any speed up to a LIMIT of 65.

BTW slow drivers are just as hazardous as fast drivers...  Both are creating hazardous situations on the highway... Go with the flow of traffic to be safest, keeping good distances between you and other cars.  If all traffic is going 75 miles per hour, and you're driving 55 and traffic is flying around you... there is more of a possibility that YOU will be picked up than everyone driving 75... because YOU are the hazard.

They really need to make the kids here go to Driver's EDUCATION.

Just because a whole bunch of dumbasses decide to speed and go 75mph, doesn't mean I have too.  When you get pulled over and you tell the cop "I was just driving with traffic", you will still get the ticket.  That argument is stupid.

I don't care if you think it's stupid.... Try driving 20 mph under the flow of traffic and see how smart people think you are, including the police... You may think you are the only one driving correctly, but that's just your blind arrogance. Go back to driver's ed and learn to drive safely.
