Please take time to read this thread and add any GOOD advise you may have, or previous experiences to share that will give others a "heads up" When the dust rolls in, visability can be cut to near zero. Especially along the I-10, the 347 and the 238. We have the open desert and farm fields and this I can guarantee, will sometime this season eventually catch all of us having to deal with. So many of us share this road, and I want to share some things that can save your life. (I for one will turn my lights on when I notice the density beginning to approach. This is ok as long as you remember to turn them off when the following steps I have to take) If you feel that visability is being reduced to a level that you are uneasy driving in, the rules of the road are to: 1) PULL AS FAR TO THE RIGHT OFF THE ROAD AS YOU SAFELY CAN. THE FURTHUR THE BETTER. 2) TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS. 3) REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL 4) DO NOT AT ANY TIME, ATTEMPT TO RESUME TRAVEL UNTIL YOU CAN VISABLY AND SAFELY DETERMINE YOU CAN RETURN TO THE DRIVING LANE. Please everyone, lets be safe! Today was a pre-curser of what will come! and this one really wasn't that bad! |
