There can arise a situation where someone could unwittingly become stuck on the tracks, that doesn't make them dumb.
Who are you and what did you do with the REAL Jason?

Alert | PERSONAL RESPONSABILITY!!!! Anyone remember that. You stop on the tracks....YOU DIE!!! So don't stop on the tracks. Don't assume the guy in front of you will pull up and give you enough room to squeeze in. If there isn't enough room for you to pull through...DON'T GO!!! Some people are idiots. The City can only do so much. This light is a much needed step in the right direction. Guess what...someone will die eventually on the tracks...its inevitable. It happens all over the country. But I can guarantee I wont die by impact of a train. More likely by Granny's wrath

Alert | I have seen many intersections like this. When a train is approaching, the traffic light ahead of the tracks goes green before the gates start to come down. It is not a perfect solution and I have seen cars hit in the past, but, it does work to clear out the intersection in the vast majority of cases.

I'm just saying that someone could be cut off, forcing them to stop on the tracks. I saw it happen at that intersection near ASU and fortunately for them, they were able to change lanes (although they had to cut off another car). It's rare, but it can happen. It sounds like this extra light will help with this though. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | I agree with AzSandSlinger about not stopping on the tracks. They deserve to be hit. I don't care if they guy in front of you makes it appear if 10 cars can fit in front of him and you got stuck.

Alert | | So has the death toll risen? I have not heard of any deaths from this other than drunken idiots walking on the tracks getting hit by the train.

Alert | Thank God I was wrong. I started this thread saying I hope I am wrong. I have to hand it to whatever agency figured out that complicated intersection, because it seems to working wonderfully!!! I truly am pleased! I just went through it about an hour ago, and traffic was heavy, but SAFE!!!!!
