I knew there was something different about your posts hastings..Your posts are much more thoughtful and measured.

I didn't think this thread was a debate, it was a good thread that quickly went into the toilet.

I agree but I am just really glad that the us troops are beginning a drawdown now since the troop surge helped. It was announced soon we would be logistical support only in Iraq. That's awesome to see some great progress in the sandbox. I am glad we went to Iraq but I just wished the bush administration would have handled the war better. It's funny how the media doesn't publicize this fact

But who knows depending on who wins the election everything that has happened could go to crap. Now that we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel I really hope Billary doesn't get elected.

Caveman, you ask: WHAT FACT? The fact is you would not know the fact if it hit you up side the head. However, downfall's post was open-ended. I will give you that. Never thought that you and I would meet in the middle of the tracks, but be ready for the tracks to split. OK downfall, WHAT FACT????? Caveman asked a very good question. Please answer it.

Sorry Guys and Gals..I only get to play occasionally so I have been offline for few days. I am looking for the post and context from which the caveman extracted his quote. Whatever fact it is I was referring to I stand by it 100%

SO 11 months till the demise or rebuilding of our country depends on who gets elected. It's either a homer simpson woohoo or an eeyore dreary day

I was in full support of our effort in Afghanistan but not enthusiastic about the effort in Iraq. Having said that however, now that we are involved, we need to bring it to a successful conclusion. As a teenager 40 years ago, I was involved in a war that we were not allowed to win and do not want to see us repeat that. We must not reinforce the view that the US has no grit, no staying power, that if an opponent just hangs on we will sooner or later fold. This is not a good message to send to the people who wish us ill.

I completely agree. The main thing is that we owe it to the people of Iraq and to our future generations to do the right thing and finish what we started. Besides we really are doing good in Iraq despite what the liberal media may say.

I would like to hear from any one regarding the issues I speak of here.....Anyone??

1. I dont think that the Government has ever told the truth, in the last 100 years, they lie to our children in the textbooks at school, they lie to us about the medicines that we should take to help cure disease, They spray us with chemicals CHEMTRAILS They bring in drugs from forien countries, in the name of making money, they lie to us about every single war we have ever had, they lie to us about what is going on in the world today through the bought media…They are supposed to protect us from these companies that could possibly harm us, this is built into the Constitution of America, However they do not they continue to Lie, and be motivated by the all might dollar, and the overall power of us all. They sell us out to foriegn governemnts, and strip us of our rights as Americans. They lie they maim they imprision they kill, all in a business suit, so it doesnt look bad.
Then we look at foriegn countries, and Say ” yea but that is happening over there” To me it doesnt matter where it happens, they are still people, still humans, still have feelings and emotions, they still have Mothers and Fathers, and they still bleed red blood, just because they speak a different language, doesnt mean they are different, hell When I have seen a translater translate words from someone in a horrific situation, they say the same things that we say, they ask the same questions WHY WHY WHY WHY is happening to them. This is SICK
Government is supposed to be our Servant, not our Master.
People we all know this, so what makes any of us as American Citizens,as human beings think that they are ever going to tell the truth, or are ever going to change
I keep telling my friends what is happening, you know what they say “that will never happen as we will stand up to the them, People are not going to let that happen”
Well everything ive been saying is happening, and the same friends ive talked to, Still dont believe it. This is amazing.
WE THE PEOPLE: this had no title, as it said it all!
I read this recently on a bumper sticker
KILL THEM ALL AND LET GOD SORT THEM OUT

America sucks. We all have dirt floors in our houses, unfit drinking water, mosquitos spreading malaria like crazy, genocide committed by mechettes, etc.

If you hate the system, work to change it. Vote. Create and distribute petitions. Contact representatives and tell them your views. Organize and stage protests. Learn about structuring paragraphs..........lol

tds2277 - You will be more able to get a discussion going if you break down your issues an offer them one at a time. Be warned, this is a hard crowd. As for the bumper sticker that you cite, it is foolish but evolved from a real event. In a Crusade against heresy in southern France (1200s), the papal legate was asked how to tell the difference between the Catholics and heritics. He responded with "Kill them all! Surely the Lord will know his own".

It is a good quote but only if you apply it today not to it's original usage. Didn't Rumsfeld say that or cheney or somethng too?
