Alert | Quote from RAWTAZ: "Remember, We are not talking about a situation where the guy was drug behind the bar and put in the hospital. The guy got popped in the nose for being a jerk, and it appears that he felt he was being a jerk also as he never pressed charges."
I don't believe it is the damages that are done that should determine the punishment in this situation. I believe the "intent" is what should determine the punishment. He intended to hurt the guy. There is no excuse for those actions, unless someone was in physical danger. Not pressing charges means he was being a nice guy. By your assessment anyone who doesn't press charges must be guilty...... Name calling always works doesn't it. | | Sometimes we just make life to difficult.

RAWTAZ, have you been following these threads carefully? Can you read? The guy who got popped had nothing to do with whatever was going on earlier. He was discussing the situation with one of the firefighters, when he got popped by a fireman who was drunk and took a sneaky punch from the side, while the victim wasn't even looking at him, and then ran when the victim got tasered by a PCSO officer.
He never pressed charges because of reasons that have also been stated on another thread.
Go back and read before you post these statements.

Alert | Without knowing what your employee manual says on the matter, I would venture to guess that being a boss weighed heavily on that decision...
As a coworker, you have no idea what else is in that person's personnel file, if an incident like that had happened before, if there was a history of unwanted advances. Previous employees may have mentioned something about that boss in exit interviews...the personnel department may have received anonymous notes or information.
>>>I had a boss at ### that made a gay advance to someone OFF DUTY and away from the premises. He was fired and no amount of protesting by his minions got him reinstated. This was not a felony or misdemeanor. He was a very well-liked person. Sad but true.
In short, personnel decisions are made weighing the good of the company and the fellow employees.
If FD Maricopa retained these two individuals, not only would their behavior be seen as condoned and setting a low benchmark for other public employees, but it would open the city up to potential litigation in case something similar happened in the future.

Alert | | I for one am calling for the removal of the petition. There are only 10 names on that signature. This issue has caused enough heartache for the town of Maricopa. We need to let this issue go and continue on with our lives. It is an unforunate event for all invloved and we need to hold our heads up high and move on. Obviously the petition is not working.

Alert | | I am not removing the petition. It is a violation of your civil rights granted in the constitution to be fired for signing a petition. Talk to your employer, not me.

Alert | | For petitions to have any valid weight they need to have some basic information, full name and address that can be verified for authenticity.

Alert | Actually thats not legitimate.
Unlike the various flaky email petitions that periodically wander around the Internet, with PetitionOnline there is exactly one authoritative master copy of your petition. Each signature and email address (always required, but optionally confidential) is logged for possible explicit or statistical validation. Duplicate signatures are automatically rejected, and each person who signs is automatically sent a confirming email message.
The potential results of an online petition vary according to the petition request, who sponsors it, how well it is written and promoted, and the petition recipient. No one can fully control all these factors, so obviously, results will vary.
Often it may be most productive for you to define success in terms of the factors you can control. A petition can be an organizing tool, a tool for collective expression, and/or a way to raise the visibility of a legitimate viewpoint — as well as a results-oriented tool for advocacy.

I'm just saying anyone in power isn't going to take seriously a petition filled with incomplete names and emails. If it is merely a means for people to band together around a similar viewpoint and feel good about themselves then this may indeed be a success.

The original is perfect, this site modifies them to try to cause me convulsions.
