Thanks Bionicbunny, Just because I choose to dress modestly, doesn't mean I dress in burlap! I find that to be both unappealing and itchy! Nothing, I have considered what the look 'could have been' and I determined that *I* was most focused on the outfit, which meant to me, it was not appropriate for ME - it WAS a modest outfit, but a little more form-fitting than I was comfortable with. As for what is modest: MY description will fit only a small percentage of society. I realize this. one-piece swimming suits fall into the modest catagory as long as the cleavage is under control - I personally prefer no cleavage, but sometimes it is unavoidable, and I realize this. I believe short shorts, cleavage (at all) and clothing so tight I can see that the bra is digging into skin and the blouse 'wrinkles' at the boobs are immodest. Add to the list, visible thongs and pants that are too low and digging into the butt, hanging on for dear life. I personally do not wear clothing without sleeves (short sleeves are fine ) I do not feel like looking at people shoulders is as big of a deal as the rest of it, and I would prefer to see someone's shoulders instead of their tight-fitting top with sleeves anyday. Having dresses and clothing that is fitted, but not tight is modest. Having clothing that is attractive is a bonus by all means. It has NOTHING to do with not being comfortable with my body, and EVERYTHING to do with respecting myself. I do not find myself being offended when I see people wearing these types of clothing. You can tell the difference between those looking to be seen and those dressing in a reasonable fashion. But that doesn't mean I have to approve of it. I don't. I DO realize everyone has different beliefs and everyone has different choices in what they wear. I don't walk up and tell people they are dressing inappropriately - that's RUDE! What I have done here is given my opinion, and I DO believe what has become acceptable - really shouldn't be. What is sold in stores show what a minority I am in. But I promise, there are others out there - many, your neighbors, who feel the same way I do. There are stores out there that sell "coverage clothing" I DON'T use it, because I think it would be too hot to wear another layer of clothing. Obviously, I have hit a 'hot spot'. I have shared my opinion, what you do with it is your choice. Choosing to bothered by it serves no purpose. |
