Very nice there, sysadmin. Warcraft cost you your marriage or something? I've had a job since I was 13, fool. But, if you want to send me my mortgage payment, I'd love to stay home and play my drums. This country only sucks when people only care for themselves. Hey, I grew up a "have not", but have plenty to be thankful for now. I work my butt of for what I have and for what I want to have. I just feel that we can be caring more for the "have nots". Republicans are real quick to call those that don't agree with them, lazy. AND THAT IS BS! | | "Everything for everyone and nothing for ourselves"

Alert | | The have nots are that way because they choose to be that way. I am willing to give a hand up and not a hand out. Have you ever heard give a man a fish and he eats for a day but teach a man to fish and he never has to go hungry. I want to decide how I spend the money I work hard for if that means I am selfish well then I guess I am.

Alert | Drummer72 – The struggle between socialism and capitalism is not a new one. Many think that socialism was a development of the 19th and 20th centuries, this is not so. A good historical example of early socialism was Egypt under the Ptolemies. The state owned the land, controlled agriculture, owned the mines, and controlled all commerce. This was all controlled by a huge number of bureaucrats who ground down the people year after year. Eventually the entire economy disintegrated due to a lack of incentive. For further examples of failed socialist systems look up China under Wu Ti (140 BC), Wang Mang (AD9), and Mao in the 20th century. Only now is China becoming a major economic player, thanks to unleashing the free market. Do we even need to mention The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or Cuba? As for socialist countries in Western Europe, time will tell if they will be viable in the long run.

Alert | Yeah, communism worked real well in Russia and East Germany.
I remember watching people on TV fighting to get over that Berlin Wall to get into West Germany. The only people in Socialist countries that enjoy living like that are either the people at the top in charge or the lazy people.
Socialism promotes laziness, if everyone is gonna get equal shares no matter what...why work so hard? You'll get the same bread as the next guy. Let him do the all work. This is where I love Capitalism. If I work harder than the next guy, I darn sure well better get paid more than that guy. | | "My favorite health club is the International House of Pancakes" -- Lewis Black

Alert | This is going to be a bit lengthy, but I'd like YOUR opinions as to whether or not you agree in principle. It will be worth your time. After I get some responses, I'll tell where I found it. Those of you who KNOW, please do not reveal WHERE IT CAME FROM, untill we get a feel for everyones opinion. THIS SHOULD BE INTERESTING!
"We believe that man has been endowed by his Creator with freedom of will and that which has been granted must not be compromised by any man or government.
We believe that the first function of our nantional government is to protect its citizens from foreign agressors, who would impose by force their way of life upon us.
We believe that a fundamental function of government at all levels is to protect its citizens from crime.
We believe that each individual is entitled to equal treatment by his governmanr.
We reaffirm the rights of each individual to receive equal treatment and equal opportunity form government under its laws.
We believe the free enterprise system is the best system devised for managing the economic affairs of man because it maximizes freedom and production, stimulates competition and thereby benefits the consumer.
We believe the foundation of our economy and strength of our nantion lies in the working people who are producing, taxpaying members of our society.
We believe that with freedom comes responsiibility and that individual initiative is a pre-requisite to government assistance unless the individual is unable to help himself.
We believe that the birthright of each (member of our society) is to be educated to the maximumof his ability, to enjoy the fruits of his labor and advance in economic status."
Do YOU agree or disagree with these principles? A simple yes or no will suffice.
Thanks for your consideration, Slinky
