With all the school shootings going on lately:

Do you think teacher's will be carrying guns soon?

           OR

Will colleges become completely online only?

None of the above. Teachers carrying guns sounds like a great idea, but it won't happen because most teachers are liberals and liberals hate guns. As for all college being online... thats just a total over reaction.

I think it's a great idea if they had to pass an extensive fighitng pistol course taught be real instructors, not PD.

What about giving the Law Abiding Citizens (Students) with CCW carry on Campus?

I totally agree with the ccw one. there was a group that protested recently by going to school with just their holsters displayed in protest of the "gun free" zones...

That  would be too many guns on campus. Plus it would make it way easier for some idiot to snatch one.

LOL... So what exactly is the right formula of guns to students then?

I totally agree.  If I was a teacher I would at least demand the right to carry whether I did or not.

Not entirely true Ken.  I'm pretty sure you'd  consider me left-leaning on a number of issues, but I happen to agree with conservatives on this one; I think that disarming people who own guns legally and responsibly only helps criminals (who will own guns whether they are legal or not), because the potential shooter will then know that none of his potential victims are armed.  But I'm re-treading something that's been beaten to death on other threads...

Psst...if an idiot wants a gun, he's not going to wait until he's on campus to get one.

Oh my God!  Teachers carrying guns, law abiding students carrying guns, the lunitics that shoot up the schools carrying arsenals!!  Let the "shoot out at the O.K. Corral" begin.  What a free for all that would be.  We could give out prizes to the person who shot the most bullets, killed the most people and a dummy prize for the person who hit nothing.

Unfortunately, there is no doubt that the innocent unarmed will be killed and maimed,  just as they do now.  If somone already has their gun(s) out and are blasting away how fast do you think you could get to your gun?  And in the chaos and fear, how many well intentioned people will at last manage to get their guns out,  to fire back hitting......the term "friendly fire" mean anything to you?  Our trained armed forces have this happen  during  fighting with the enemy.  What would the fatalities be with guns in the  hands of the common person coming under attack?  More carnage than the original gunmen had inflicted.

You have no idea how fast I can react to an OP and make lethal hits a high stress environment. That's why I stated people should be enrolled in a fighting pistol class. See you are the kind of person who thinks LEO's are the ones to handle this kind of situation. You are wrong, in the 2 hours it takes law enforcement to handle the situation, negotiations, gathering SWAT, breaching the building, finding the hostile targets and engaging them, you have already created a situation resulting in high casualties. There are trained and untrained people in this world, and your life depends on that. So if the situation were to arise, would you rather have a trained armed person sitting next to you, or would you rather just wait to be executed while the police try to pull their thumbs out of their butts trying to assess the situation?

teachers carrying weapons will never happen... too much liability involved.. it doesn't matter how well-trained people are... all it takes is ONE incident and it's game over...

You can "fight for your right" all you want.. the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with carrying weapons on campus..

As a teacher, this is something that is very near and dear to me- but I don't have an absolute answer. I think that I should have the right to protect myself in an emergency situation, but I agree that carrying a gun might not be the best idea. I would be happy to participate in a gun class and everything...
My main concern is that someday I may be in a situation where I need to protect myself and my students and how am I supposed to do that against a student/person who is armed with guns? I know that all schools have "lock-down" policies and such, but did you know that I have to go outside of my classroom in order to lock my door? Hopefully the gunman/gunwoman isn't in the hallway!

Awesome! The gunman can lock you in and shoot at his leisure!
