Alert | I stand by my statement, everyone has done SOMETHING good in their life. It may not run the gamot of making up for the bad, and it most definitely does not mean everyone is GOOD, there are a lot of horrible people, but NO ONE is worthless  There are plenty of people out there that are lazy and taking advantage of our tax $$. However, we have an advantage in helping those who are temporarily in need of assistance because the sooner they are back on their feet (following job-loss, etc) the faster they are paying back into the tax base to get you the services you want (police, fire, education, roads, etc). Middle ground is what it is all about. As it is, it isn't working, w/o our economy can still be strong, but be strengthened -- choose somewhere inbetween and you end up with something fully supported with maximum strength. Now, seriously, I have met people who do not believe in welfare, and I have met people who believe in national healthcare, but it is rare to meet someone who believes both. Usually, those who believe in national healthcare believe in SOME type of welfare, especially when you consider national healtcare, in and of itself is somewhat welfare-like in nature. | | | |

Alert | Well, the you should applaud my mother! She had to raise 5 kids on her own and needed welfare for about 5 years.
We(kids) all have college degrees and are middle class. If it wasn't for that help, we might not have had money for college.
