Obama sounds like he has great ambitions to get these things done, but the fact is he more than likely cannot do most of what he promises. The funny thing is how many people actually think the president is to blame for our financial crisis, our housing crisis, and everything else. True he has made some major blunders but he had nothing to do with many of our nations troubles, nor could he have stopped it. The fact is I am an undecided voter, but I dont like empty promises and being in the financial business I can tell you that Senator Obama is "writing checks his body cant cash". I like what he says, but he cant deliver what he promises because America, and the free market, wont allow it.

Reagan~ I'm not liberal. I am educated and choose to do my own research. I've also been following politics for more than 30 years. And gosh, I'm also not near as intimidated as you are when someone disagrees with your beliefs. You, on the other hand, seem to choose to believe the media and the politicians. Sorry~ no offense.

You are the one that made the insane statements that you did.  I challenged them with facts and showed side by side comparsions of the way the media is truly treating the candiates.  Then your only reply is that your educated and I'm intimidated?  Are you kidding me?  That is all you can come up with?  Please don't play the "I'm educated, your dumb, and I need any facts to prove it because I'm right" card, it doesn't work on this forum.  Dis-prove me by facts, not your ego.

Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

Lets all agree, that we disagree. Staunch Republicans, and Democrats have their minds made up, and will not deter from their belief. Each party believes their candidates are the best, and the other party's candidates are crap. I personally am tired of all partisan politics, and wish we would be "Americans" first, before party. I believe that there are some brilliant people in each party, who could do a lot to help make America the country that all the world looks up to as the free-world leader. But you never hear anyone say that the "other" party has any socially redeeming graces, or competent forward-thinking people who could advance our American values.

It's fascinating that this election looks like it's more of a civil war. It's also amazing that people are being swayed and convinced to vote for someone who is virtually unknown and who has limited experience. Now keep in mind that you are being swayed by the media and a speech that was written FOR and not BY her. Did they overlook (or intentionally with hold) Barack's experience more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed? Although a bad representation of either a Republican or Democrat, I especially loved the soccer mom from Michigan who said she'd vote for Palin (even before the speech) simply because they had something in common~ they were both soccer moms and that takes a lot of dedication~ being a soccer mom qualifies her to step in and manage our Nation? Assuming that her household is the Nation, she is president and her husband is vice president (Or vice-versa)~ IS it run well?

Do you honestly believe Obama has more experience than her? Or even more than a soccer mom? No, he does not. He was "virtually unknown" until he began campaigning. Personally, my favorite are the black people who say they will vote for him because "it's about time we get a black person in office," or women who are willing to vote for another socialist, Hillary, because "we need a woman in office." I'm sorry, but even if it were right to think that way, Hillary hardly counts as a woman.  And in answer to your question, it is easy to overlook Obama's "experience," simply because HE HAS VERY LITTLE. Not only did Obama not write his speech by himself, but he can't even successfully present it by himself. Fit to run a country? I don't think so.

Sorry, but if he believed the media, he would not be a conservative. I would think you'd know that after following politics for 30 years...

Yes, but any biased news, liberal or conservative, is bad. I know far more people who watch the regular media than those who watch Fox News. Somehow, these people attach a stigma to Fox and not the rest of the news. I guess they only decide it's biased when they don't agree with it, lol.

I'm not losing sleep over these posts . . . lol . . . it's opinion and I respect your point of view. I hope you're not losing sleep because I haven't convertedr~ Heck, I like Palin and McCain. I just dont' believe they are best. But that's my opinion, not necessarily the majority or the minority . . . it just is what it is. I choose based on what I feel is right according to me and my values. As far as backing up what I say~ it's not our debate and my completed homework, whether you cheat off of me or not, will not give you an A or an F. It's opinion based on the facts that I have. It's up to each of us to research the truth and make our own decisions. And when we talk about biased news~ who are we kidding. My news channel is Comedy Central. Everyone needs to chill. Try burning incense and meditating (unless you hear voices that tell you to kill . . . then quit).

I totally agree, she was picked because she is a woman. What happened to all the GOP talk of how Obama lacked experience, then they go and pick a hockey mom? They lost me. I was going to vote for McCain because I do think he does have more experience than Obama, but this latest trick with adding Palin is appallin. I'm back with Obama now. She truly lacks experience, being governer of Alaska for two years does not qualify you to be president. What if McCain, God forbid were to die in office, is she going to be breastfeeding her youngest while meeting with leaders of the world? I'm sorry this is just not sitting right with me. I can think of one better choice if it has to be a woman, what about Mrs. Dole? Palin needs to focus on her family and wait till the kids are older to pursue this...just my opinon as a mom of three.

buzzymom you can't say that. Hold on while my right wing pals sweep these negatives under the carpet.

Are you for real? She's not even a soccer mom. And yes, a hockey mom is more qualified than Obama, based on what they have each done in office. How sad is that?

yeah palin has done a lot, especially ask for and receive earmarks while mayor of wasilla, but now she claims she is against all the pork?

uh oh, anyone else see the national enquirer article about her having an affair with her hubbys business partner? of her outrage when she found out her daughter was pregnant? before you start telling us to look at the source, its the same source that broke the John Edwards adultery story&they were spot on with the reporting.

just keeps getting deeper&deeper for Palin

Does anyone get annoyed by her accent?
I would hate to have McCain die and lsiten to her speak for an hour, during the State of the Union address.

I'll give her 3 weeks and she'll be out of the race.
