I actully heard she was back to work three days after having her baby. While I am voting for Obama, Palin has held an executive office. Can't say that about a Senator.

Vote NO on Prop 102

Drummer, I think you need to put the left-wing talking points down and slowly back away from the table. You think her last job was Mayor? What was Governor? Lets compare her to either Biden or Obama for that matter. She actually has MORE political experience than Obama and lets look at accomplishments. Tell me again what Obama accomplished besides giving $1.5 MILLION tax dollars to his lunatic pastor? I bet she even showed up for work more than Obama did.

As for worrying about McCain and if she would do well... ask yourself if you would want Biden in the right hand seat if something happened to Obama... I don't think so.

I was reading the Huffington post (Always good for a laugh) and the way they bash her makes me like Palin even more. I mean their new feminist battle cry is that she isn't Hillary Clinton... LOL. They are bashing her because she said she doesn't believe humans are the cause for Global Warming.... more lol

As, I said before she has actually passed major legislation that was relevant to current issues. She does not just have a plan on paper for "big oil" Under her leadership a windfall tax WAS passed on big oil for AK. Gas prices did not go up with it. She then took the money from the windfall tax and worked WITH the state leaders to set up an ENERGY REBATE for every one, man, woman, AND child. Gas in AK villages is over $10/gln and home heating oil that is vital to the villages is even more. Winter starts in the villages next month. In two weeks the energy rebates will be sent out so that the people can buy their heating oil and there gas.

While federal senators are still trying to figure out how to keep their special interests and lobbyists happy, she has actually started, worked, and finished without touching current state money and adding to the state moneys.

BTW, little known fact, most of the villages around AK do not have running water and electricty is nearly all on a generator. Not to mention the challenge of medical care, dental care, and education. One of the few industries that can bring them progress is constantly denied because the carabou are more important than jobs.

hastings, you should look up the law before you post. Obama's father was NOT a US citizen and his Mom was only 18.... AND he was born in KENYA. PLEASE check it our for yourself.

Here: http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2008/08/obamas-citzensh.html

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Makes no difference where he was born, or the citizenship of his father. If one of your parents is a US citizen so are you, no matter where you are born. I was born in the UK with one American parent and one English parent, and was an American citizen at birth. Thats why I have a US passport. My sister was born in Germany, again with one US parent and one non-US parent, she also was a US citizen at birth. We both have passports to prove it.

All of this is irrelevant anyway, Obama was born in Hawaii. Anti-Obama groups are trying to cast doubt on this but its just conspiracy theory types who are pushing this, no reasoning person takes it seriously. I would love it if it was true ,but it ain't.

If there was any chance that Obama was not a citizen at birth and thus not qualified to serve as President do you not think that the Republicans would be all over the issue?

Palin's best experience comes from being governor of Alaska since late 2006. So its been a year a half since since she has been governor. She had a baby recently so she was in maternity leave for at least 3 months. She probably took some vacation during her first year in office. Hmm.. I wouldn't want her to be president if something was to happen to McCain.

I'm laughing my butt off.....all you guys did was rip on Obama for being the no experience man...then comes Palin and it's just peachy.   I knew she was governor of Alaska, but who ever heard about heard??

Just wait Hastings, just wait. The lawsuit is still very active... but keep on thinking that just because it hasn't been revealed that it won't be.

Drummer, keep laughing but Obama does lack experience, where did you get lost? Please tell me you are in denial about the fact that Palin has MORE experience than Obama does. As for foreign policy, what experience does Obama have besides living in Indonesia as a CHILD?

The litmus test for either VP candidate is that if they were the Presidential nominee for your party would you vote for them? If Biden was the Nominee Dems would vote for him .

If Palin was in the pool for presidential candidates campaigning, how many primaries would she have won and what kind of reception would she have gotten for the party?

This is so CLEARLY a reactionary pick and attempt to garner some excitement in a very lackluster campaign and voting base. This screams of desperation and shows such lack of judgment on McCain's part that it is really disappointing. I expected more from him.

Think what you want, but many Republicans are excited about this pick, and I for one think it is funny that you think Democrats are the only ones who can have minorities or women run. If McCain wanted to upstage the Democrats, he very well could have. He picked her before the DNC, but chose to announce it afterwards because that was their night. Do you think Democrats would have done that? Who knows?

This are pretty funny statements.  If they were going to pick a VP candidate that the party would vote for President, Barack "Don't say my middle name you racist Obama's" pick would then be Clinton.  Biden only made it thru one caucuses, Iowa.  And he only got 1% of the vote!

Both campaigns are pretty lackluster.  "The One" that is supposely the most exciting thing in politics in decades, can't even get to 50% approval rating.  Neither of them can.  So cut out the slant and admit that both campaigns are in trouble because neither of them are too popular.

Far right social conservatives are excited about this pick. I am not sure about Moderate and progressive republicans. Her stance on global warming is actually turned off quite a few people, as has her lack of experience on the national level turned off many independents and Dems that were leaning toward McCain. The question remains will the voters he gains offset those he loses because of the pick?

And as far Dems holding the lock on Women and minorities in government, actually thinks that it shows how far this country has come when gender and race no longer define political views. Republicans have done a good job having a several minorities and women working with the media in this election.  I see al the time on CNN.

I actually have no problem with McCain choosing a woman. The question I would have is that had Obama chose Clinton as his running mate, would he still have chosen Palin. I believe the answer to that is no, but there is no way to prove it. But if that is case, then it clearly was a reactionary move. Palin was chosen because she was a woman first and everything else second. Regardless of how you feel about the selection that is pandering,  not to say that Dems don't do that as well, it is typical politics.

The very same thing could be said about Barack "Don't say my middle name you racist" Obama. His pick wasn't a moderate pick. The Democrat ticket is the most liberal in history. Many moderates and centrist Republicans won't touch that ticket. McCain is the most moderate of all 4 of them. And Palin is the only one with Executive experience.

Jack Wheeler is a brilliant man who was the author of Reagan's
strategy to break the back of the Soviet Union with the star wars race
and expose their inner weakness. For years he wrote a weekly
intelligence update that was extremely interesting and well structured
and informed. He consults(ed) with several mega corporations on global
trends and the future, etc. I think he is in semi-retirement now. He is
a true patriot with a no-nonsense approach to everything. He is also
a somewhat well known mountain climber and adventurer.

Dr. Jack Wheeler Regarding Obama
Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler

The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty
suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original
ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of
how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric
devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest
of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his
non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as
a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only
a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which
he pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn't, not a genetic drop of, is 'African-American,'
the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave
ships. He hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his
Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab
business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is
the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal
Messiah. It's something Hillary doesn't understand - how some
complete neophyte came out of the blue and stole the Denomination from
her. Obamamania is beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious
cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original
Sin, transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being
white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals' Christ, offering
absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic
behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments
Hillary could make of any kind can be effective against it. The
absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all
the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I
believe it because it is absurd.

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and
are in no desperate need of a phony savior. His candidacy is
ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any thinking American.

"Non-thinkers".....will still be the sheep being led to the promised land.....and like the demise of the buffalo.....led over a "false based tax cliff".........

No I was saying if the nominees were Biden or Palin for president in this election, who would win the election.

I agree about both campaigns. For a lot people the question is do I want to vote for 72 year old man from the incumbent party, or an inexperienced man. Sadly, for some people the question is whether they can bring themselves to vote for a black man. It is an unfortunate truth. I would hope that people would look at the issues first, but I am not sure that will be the case in this election.

I am just as guilty, a major issue for me is McCain’s age. Choosing a social conservative as a running mate pushed further away. For the first time in 22 years of being very cynical of politics and politicians I am actually supporting a candidate and contributed to a campaign, something I never thought I would do.

Yet on the other side of the coin you have Republicans like George Bush that want a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and you have Obama being criticized as not being "black enough".

The entire "executive experience" thing is a sham.

She has been governor of a state that has a population roughly the size of Mesa for 17 months. Hardly experienced to deal with foreign affairs, a national budget, or work along side the legislative branch on a national level to accomplish what we need to accomoplish as a country. She doesn't even know what the job description of a VP is!!!!!! Maybe she needs to meet with McCain a third time before teh RNC begins.

If executive experience matterd, Carter and Bush would have been better prepared as presidents.

If executive experience was high on McCain's list he could have selected Romney, Jindal, or Pawlenty, or Lindle from HI as a female running mate if that was necessary. Or even gone off the chart and selected someone from the private sector

That is a funny being that the Democrats are running on 2 things.

1. We don't want 4 more years of Bush.

2. Change we can believe in. (We don't know what the change is, but believe in it).

Ok, so if we took the number of years of experience off the table for EVERYONE then lets just look at what their intentions/goals were for being in public office. Then, how many of those goals they actually met, or how many of their good intentions produced good, tangible results. I think Palin looks good in that light...

A politician's job is to actually serve the people. Not just talk about it. Judge their proven accomplishments not their lofty preacher-like promises.
