Alert | alrighty then. If you were trying to persuade others to follow you, I think you missed the mark. Calling other "right wing nut jobs" doesn't necessarily give one a reason to pause and hear, let alone consider, your arguments for Obama.
There may or may not be something to the "investigation". I think McCain would have considered that when making his decision. McCain AND Palin had to know her record would be scrutinized. We will see how that plays out. There is always something for someone to "dig up" and turn it against the person. If nothing comes of it, it all depends how important the voters perceive it to be.
About her daughter, your post was the first I saw of anything. First, you admit it's unconfirmed. Second, I don't see how this changes the kind of person Gov. Palin is. One's belief about relationships before marriage is a personal one. I'm sure there are many parents with teenagers that don't/didn't want a pregnancy before marraige. Unfortunately, things happen no matter how hard we try to prevent it. It doesn't mean we love our children less. It certainly doesn't mean one is hipocritical.
With all the blurb that was posted, I think your grasping for straws. From what I saw today, I think the Dem leadership was caught off guard and is now backpedaling, looking for anything to regain the momentum. | | My answer WAS "NO" to Q#5 and Q#1. Alert | or the unconfirmed reports that her 17 yr old daughter Bristol is pregnant&unwed.
When I was in a college there was a boy I had a crush on who convinced me to go to a meeting for democratic volunteers during an election. One of the things that has always stuck with me from that one day is that the Democratic leaders stood up in front of us and encouraged everyone to find dirt, by whatever means necessary, to discredit all republican candidates. I never heard from the boy again and I have not voted for a democrat either.
When ppl stoop to degrading children to win an election and then call every one right wing nut jobs that do not agree with them, I stop listening to everything in between. That is also why I avoid CNN and Fox. If I want to hear gossip and rumors I will read people magazine. If I want to vote for president I look at all of the facts. If Sarah Palin was a pushover, she would not have filed legal complaints against her OWN party ethics. She would not have told the AK state senators in Washington to stop asking for Pork Barrel Funding. She would not have taxed the heck out of big oil for windfall profits. She would not have extended benefits for signifigant others of state employees who are gay. She is definatly NOT a push over.
I'm sorry Riki, but I am a right wing nut job and I will be voting for McCain.
I should also I was born and raised in Alaska, am from Wasilla, AK, her father was my 5th grade teacher, and my brother has met with her personally to discuss issues faced by people with disabilities in AK.

Alert | Riki, too much salsa? I think maybe you are thinking of the clinton's reign, understandable mistake. What is abstence? is that what you just drank to get you through your tivo'd dnc clip?
Come on riki, if you are gonna go all rumor then at least explain how Obama can run after he was actually born in Kenya. I'll wait while you untangle your figure skates and think this through.

Alert | | I love how McCain attacks Obama on his lack of experience and foreign policy and then he gets a VP candidate that has no experience with anything. She was a mayor of a town of 9000 and a governor of Alaska. Wow let me tell you she sure has done a lot for foreign relations and commerce, lol. This is such a joke.

She was a mayor of a town of 9000 and a governor of Alaska. Wow let me tell you she sure has done a lot for foreign relations and commerce, lol. This is such a joke. YOu want to know what a joke is? The entire left wing party, including you. That's the joke, and I'll tell you why. I love how Obama's crew and associated liberal press attack Sarah Palin for lack of experience when their own presidential candidate Barak has NO experience being in the senate and nobody, even in his own party know anything about him..........yet the 15 mins Sarah Palin is here, we know a lot more about her than we'll ever know about Barak, now that's a joke in itself..... Here's another joke for you. The DNC spent 2 days trying to convince the nation that they are Women friendly with the appearance of Hilary Clinton (who ran off the stage with her husband the moment she gave her forced speech...)also with all these women entertainers from Hollyweird and singers. What's wrong with that? Nothing really.....in fact, I would expect them to do that, but here is where it DOES GO WRONG. So, I said they spent 2 days trying to convince the nation and to swing the votes of ex-hilary people onto obama's side......that's fine and dandy......but the moment the republicans get Sarah Palin as VP candidate......everything they've worked so hard to convince the nation that they are women friendly opportunist people, have just torn down everything they've worked so hard to convince. And it only took less than half an hour for a women to do this, I have to laugh at this. Good job Dems. and the associated liberal press for shooting yourselves in the feet. Also, what about this questioning of Sarah Palin's 4 month old son with DS? She isn't capable of having the time to look after her son if she runs for this position? Right? I mean, she has to stay at home and watch and raise the kid...kind of like conservative values right? I mean, don't the left toot about women and their equal rights to rise above and beyond and go out and work! to achieve goals never achieved before by any women.......to become vp of the United States of America....yet, they turn it around and have her put in a position and question her to go to a position that the left really oppose and hate doing? Snuffing out the women's role in today's society? Which is it liberals? You can't have it both ways? Stay at home mom which irks of traditional conservative values, or the working high in society to achieve higher goals for equal rights of women, a liberal value. Hmmmm...kind of hard isn't it? Face it, was Palin pandering to women.....and their votes and also for Hilary supporters......absolutely. This is what makes it great, as she has class, she is very outspoken, very good with people and not ONE ILL-STATEMENT by anybody who has lived in her state or known her. Barak on the other hand, we have no idea as he hides his past from everyone...in fact, he loves to reveal his wife and mom's history (and even messes up fact for fact about his mom) but when it comes to Barak, oh no...we have no idea, nobody has an idea of this guy......that's a joke and half.

so what about the investigation into her abuse of power as governor of AK where she wanted her state trooper ex BIL's boss to fire him after their divorce&the guy refused so she canned him? or the unconfirmed reports that her 17 yr old daughter Bristol is pregnant&unwed. doesnt that go againt the nut job right wings mantra of no sex before marriage/abstence?
Exactly your first two words...."so what." How about the FACT <----- LIBERALS don't like that word, so I'll use that again and again.....how about the fact that You've got one guy (former Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan) saying that she fired him because she wanted him to fire a Trooper that use to be her brother-in-law.....and Menegan supposedly refused.....
But, Monegan forgets to add that she let him go.....then offered him another job (Executive Director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board) which he freaking turned down!!
And Monegan forgets to mention that as Gov....she had every right to fire him as Public Safety Commissioner.
No one has been able to make the connections as it's more of a he said/she said...

Alert | I have heard about the lawsuit. Can you post some more information about this? Is it really true that he refuses to make his birth certificate public?
As for Palin, what a refreshing choice. Someone who is a down to earth person. Hearing her speak and accept was like speaking with one of my neighbors, not a politician. Truly refreshing. I don't think McCain selected her to sway the female vote as much as try and shore up the conservative vote, but I think it will help both ways. | | Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

so grandpa mcsame votes 90 percent with dubya&he is supposed to bring change because he brought this woman on board? you think he isnt a control freak with his famous temper&basically she will be a yes sir woman under his thumb, no doubt about it. she messes up one time&he drops the C word on her like he did his wife. ya know if the right wing believes that gays&abortion is wrong thats fine, but dont go along with the 8yrs of failure from dubya just because grandpa is conservative in regards to pro-life/anti gay rights. we all know Barack Obama is going to win, people are tired of the same old crap of free market, stiff old white guys&ladies like colture&want something new. they dont want big oil making huge record breaking profits at our expense, they are tired of the lies&deception from cheney&dubya, tired of all the slander&vitrial that spews from the republicans at every opportunity in front of a tv camera, tired of seeing the gulf between the haves&have nots grow wider by each yr, tired of losing their homes, tired of having to sell their home if a loved one needs life saving surgery that big health insurance only covers part of. its time for a party that cares about the working class, everyday americans and not just those who have more than others.
btw you know Obama slugged the right with not only a hook, but an uppercut&a jab and kept it up throughout his speech. very very very moving speech, and i will be so proud to say i voted for him&biden come november 4. *puts on flame suit* bring it on right wing nut jobs!!!!
So, the Republicans"spew slander and vitrial [sic]". This from someone who talks about right wing nut jobs, and attacks a candidate's 17 year old daughter. Interesting.

Alert | I CAN'T WAIT, to see the VP's go head to head in a debate! It's going to be great! How can someone that was a mayor of a town of 8,000 people hold up next to Biden?...ha friggin ha.
WE all know Obama has little experience, but I don't understand all the republicans bashing him for it. Then McCain turns around and chooses a light weight for his VP. Alert | | Palin's best experience comes from being governor of Alaska since late 2006. So its been a year a half since since she has been governor. She had a baby recently so she was in maternity leave for at least 3 months. She probably took some vacation during her first year in office. Hmm.. I wouldn't want her to be president if something was to happen to McCain.

Alert | Her maternity leave was, I think, a couple of weeks at most. She has been to Iraq, and did not wait till she was a candidate for VP to go. Alaska has an extremely large military presense. You cannot have all of the bases and posts, a population were the majority will be monorities from Asia and Panamerica in the next 10 years, the missile defense system in your backyard and Russia as your neighbor and still be ignorant to foreign relations. As a governor you cannot just leave your state whenever to go a month long fact finding trip to Europe to get your foreign credentials.
Woman from AK are not meek little things that will let a state senator talk them down in debates. AK woman are generally loud, opiniated, and independent. She was the first woman governor in AK, that does not happen by being afraid of confrontation.
