You may want to change the title of this thread to.....

This is the first excuse for Obamas failure if elected.

No matter who is elected they are screwed. I pity the man that has to inherit Bush's mess.

Wow...and I assume you think all will be right with the world if a Democrat gets elected? Again, Congress has been in DEMOCRAT hands for the last few years, and it still is. What have they done to fix our situation? BTW, Democrats did not get elected to Congress because Republicans screwed up for 16 years, as you suggest. If that were the case, you might wonder how they stayed in office that long. And your list regarding high gas prices, rx prices, etc. is not even true for everyone, nor does it necessarily affect everyone. Stop listening to the media and suggesting everything is worse than it is!

hahaha everything is worse than it is... here in maricopa there is proof that there are so many empty homes and even my 401k is worth rats now.  I got my proof everything is really hitting low.

Ken ... You haven't seen anything yet.  Just wait until Obama begins his redistribution of wealth plans (tax the rich and give to the poor) if you want to see the rich fleeing to greener pastures.

I have been under the Bush redistribution of wealth plan for the past 8 years and the rich keep getting richer while the economy is in the crapper. Record high national debt thank you Mr Bush.

Tell me how electing Obama & Biden, two of the most liberal senators in the U.S. Senate, to the positions of President & Vice President is going to reduce the national debt.

Obama's Global Poverty Senate Bill #2433, which has already passed the Senate, (for it to have passed it must loaded with earmarks which I should mention are loathed by McCain and Palin) will give the United Nations 845 BILLION American taxpayer dollars to spend as it sees fit.  That bill is part of an even bigger United Nations project that will also take personally owned firearms away from all individuals worldwide.

And that is only the beginning!  His proposals include free national health care, free college tuition, and reparations for descendants of slaves, just to name a few, which will cost taxpayers an estimated TRILLION dollars over the next10 years.

If he thinks the rich are going to foot the bill for his programs, he had better think again.  They have the resources to move their operations, their money, and the jobs they create to places where they will be respected and welcomed.  The only way to stop them is by government rule, signalling the end of America's freedom.

Instead, lets elect McCain and Palin.  They are both known as rebels who are not afraid to go against the establishment.  Senator McCain has fought pork barrel corruption (earmarks as they are now called by the politically correct) and corrupt campaign practices for years.  And from what I've learned about Palin, she's spent her two years as Governor fighting corrupt good ole boys in Alaskan state government.

Let's give them a conservative Congress to work with and give McCain line item veto power and watch our national debt shrink without raising anyone's taxes.  Lets allow federal law enforcement to investigate fraud and abuse by both providers and recipients in our Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid programs and watch the financial health of these programs improve drastically.  In the past, Congress has blocked attempts to look into the billing practices of providers to these programs.

Let's support them in doing whatever it takes to bring down the cost of energy.  Let's not allow the global warming hysteria to cause us to make the same mistakes that were made in banning the use of DDT (a decision that was also based on junk scientific evidence).  The DDT ban has resulted in an estimated 10 MILLION deaths to malaria and other mosquito borne diseases worldwide.

Even if mankind is having some effect on world climate, producing and using our own fossil fuels won't do any more harm than using fossil fuels obtained from other countries.  Especially when we realize that many other industrialized nations, who are bigger polluters than we are, have no intention of doing anything about it except during events like the Olympics that allows outsiders to see what is normally kept secret.

I agree with Obama that we need change.  But as I have just pointed out, the change we need isn't the kind that Obama has in mind.

Trust me, there are plenty of people barely feeling this downturn in the economy. If you paid attention to history at all, you would know that every election year is full of financial instability. Did you also know that many industries are having one of their best years? The video game industry, for example, is thriving, and actually, the restaurant I work at has made more money this year than the last few. There is still a huge need for my industry (writing) right now. I could go on...

Most people who didn't purchase a subprime loan are fine right now. The foreclosures have more to do with the banks lending to just anyone years ago, mostly subprime loans; if that hadn't happened, there wouldn't be so many foreclosures right now. Yes, the economy is not the best right now, but don't believe the media hype; it is much better than many make it out to be.

I'm not feeling so rosy about the economy right now. The dollar is extremely weak compared to many foreign currencies, and other countries are no longer willing to foot our enormous deficit without getting anything back in return. At this point, more and more American companies are getting bought by foreign investors; in a sense, America is owning less and less of America. Budweiser is a prime example--it's about to become a German-owned company. Many of our companies in the high tech industry are now owned by other countries, whose investors will now reap the benefits of American innovation. What would we expect? With so many currencies so much stronger than our dollar at this point, it's the perfect time for foreign investors to buy American assets while they are low, and many of the American companies are perfectly willing to sell in order to avoid bankrputcy. And if anything, the federal deficit itself is being vastly underestimated due to very questionable math, which has been changed recently (the way the deficit itself is computed) to make the situation look more favorable.

I think that no matter who inherits the economy, we're only seeing the tip of the iceburg. Understand that I'm not putting all blame squarely on the shoulders of a single party--just saying that the situation is looking awfully ugly to me at this point; just my opinion.  I'm not trying to be a "doomer" either, just facing what seems to be reality at this point.  In the bigger picture of things, I don't see that the economy itself supports optimism in any way, shape, or form.  I hope more than anything that I'm proven wrong.

question, are some republicans fiscally conservative yet socially liberal? i just dont understand how they can be against big government being involved in peoples personal lives yet they want to ban abortions&gay marriage. how can anyone tell someone what they can or cant do with their body? also, is marriage about religion cuz when i married my DW the "good book" or whatever, didnt cross my mind at all. i married her because i love her and that should be what any marriage is about, gay or straight. just seems to me like republicans like to talk out of both sides of their mouths. just a simple ???

Oh well don't worry, as soon as the new vice-president for John McCain takes over Democrats will quit crying and work for a living instead of riding on the lamb.   Why do Democrats worry about how many kitchen tables and their whereabouts?  I own a couple of duplexes in Tempe that I have never set foot in, just investment pieces.   Democrats get a real life and go the only way Republican at heart.

So, in a sense you're calling all Maricopans trash? That's funny. If it were'nt for us "trash" you'd have no place to vent your republican jibberish.

Take care of your subclass family. Oh boy, mamma really raised you to be a real proud boy, huh? I'm glad there's only one of us in here that rides a golf cart to work.
