08/15/2008 11:23 AM Alert

Someone emailed this to me and I thought I'd pass it along.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung
it on my back porch and filled
it with seed. What a beauty of
a bird feeder it is, as I filled it
lovingly with seed. Within a
week we had hundreds of birds
taking advantage of the
continuous flow of free and
easily accessible food.

But then the birds started
building nests in the boards
of the patio, above the table,
and next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was
everywhere: on the patio tile,
the chairs, the table ...
everywhere!

Then some of the birds
turned mean. They would
dive bomb me and try to
peck me even though I had
fed them out of my own
pocket.

And others birds were
boisterous and loud. They
sat on the feeder and
squawked and screamed at
all hours of the day and night
and demanded that I fill it
when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn't even
sit on my own back porch
anymore. So I took down the
bird feeder and in three days
the birds were gone. I cleaned
up their mess and took down
the many nests they had built
all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like
it used to be.... quiet, serene
and no one demanding their
rights to a free meal.

Now let's see.
Our government gives out
free food, subsidized housing,
free medical care, and free
education and allows anyone
born here to be an automatic
citizen.

Then the illegal came by the
tens of thousands. Suddenly
our taxes went up to pay for
free services; small apartments
are housing 5 families; you
have to wait 6 hours to be seen
by an emergency room doctor;
your child's 2nd grade class is
behind other schools because
over half the class doesn't speak
English.

Corn Flakes now come in a
bilingual box; I have to
'press one' to hear my bank
talk to me in English, and
people waving flags other
than 'Old Glory' are
squawking and screaming
in the streets, demanding
more rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe
it's time for the government
to take down the bird feeder.
If you agree, pass it on; if not,
continue cleaning up the poop!

Take down the bird feeder and sit in the backyard with a shotgun!

For every American who has the attitude that they are entitled to everything without having to work for it...there is a Mexican who is willing to work for it in there place. there is plenty of them out there on both sides, you just ned to look.

Just let them swap.

I smell a new reality series.

Uh, that doesn't make it right to be over here illegally. BTW, please provide an example of someone "forgetting" what it means to be American, and how a Mexican who is willing to work "understands" it better. Of course there are plenty of hardworking Mexicans out there, but that doesn't make them American. If I take a siesta or eat an enchilada, am I now a true Mexican citizen? Because that would be awesome.

No it does not, however, the implication here is that there are plenty of illegals out there that are more deserving of the rights that many American citizens take for granted.

As for Americans that have lost their way; what about our friendly church buster in Tennessee.

As for Mexicans that "understand" it better, see Henry Cejudo's family especially his mother;

The woman who the 5-foot-4 Cejudo says is most responsible for his Olympic glory, the one who calls him "Shorty" and "Smurfy," did not make the trip to China. Henry said she remained behind to care for her half-dozen nieces and nephews just as she once had cared for her own by working two jobs, cleaning toilets, doing factory work, carpentry, you name it...

A man who steals bread to feed his family is still breaking the law no?  There are plenty of LEGAL Americans of Mexican descent living here deserving of rights.  If you are breaking the law, you are breaking the law.

True, but a man who steals from, mutilates and rapes an eihgty year old woman to support his drug habit deserves special attention, NO?

Like you say if you are breaking the law, you are breaking the law! Soooo how many illegal tree trimmers vs those who employ them has LARDASSSSJOE arrested? Can we afford to be sellective about which laws to enforce? Should we just give Americas Sherrif a pass because it is an election year?

Arrest the employee and employer, no free pass. Tent city is a beautiful idea.

Yes it is! But unless you use it too its full potential, it solves nothing.

Every time this subject comes up some tree-hugging liberal starts with the ' But a lot of Americans are lazy and don't deserve the rights of citizenship' line of garbage. You know, I don't like the fact that there are people out there who take advantage of our 'welfare state', but at least they are citizens. How many millions of illegal aliens are slopping it up at the public trough with absolutely NO RIGHT to do so?

I'm a liberal and never hugged a tree in my life. In fact, I think I may have cut one or two down before.

Calling me a tree hugger is as true as calling republicans rednecks....

Soooo, those that are citizens HAVE the absolute RIGHT to do so? BTW do you have a credible source or is this just your opinion? IMO your thought process is flawed just like lardasssjoes "arrest the laborer and give the contractor a pass", why because he is all deserving, because he is a citizen, because he casts a VOTE!? Yeahhh, we are America, we can elect which laws we want to enforce! And if you choose to raise the BSflag then you are nothing more that a tree-hugging liberal....yeahhhh that makes sense
