Alert | | Not a surprising poll. Congress is horrible. I can't stand watching Nancy on TV and every time between questions she gets her big botox smile going. Really disgusting. | | Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

Alert | Congress could get very interesting if Ventura runs in Minnesota. He is at 24 % in many polls and not yet in race. Given the approval rating of Dems and Reps in the Senate he could win again. It could be fun to see what Ventura would do in the Senate...

Alert | You can call it right-wing propoganda from FoxNews all day long, but what are we really talking about here. 13%? So its right-wing propoganda to say that ALL of congress is 4% lower than it really is? REALLY? We are going to bring out "right-wing propoganda" for 4%???
Sounds more like a left wing propoganda scheme to me. The Dems are back with their fuzzy math again. ---------------------
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) today pointed to President Bush’s unpopularity as an explanation for Congress’s single-digit approval rating.
"Any time you have a president that is down so, so far in poll numbers, it drags down a city councilmember. It drags down any elected official, including us, and we recognize that," Reid said when asked about Congress’s rating.
Rasmussen reported today that Congress’s approval rating has slipped to 9 percent—down two percentage points from last month, and the first-ever single-digit rating for Congress in Rasmussen’s history.
Polls this month show Bush’s approval between 29 and 30 percent. But Reid said pollsters told him Bush’s rating is lower.
"I had a meeting last night with some pollsters and other consultants. One of them said that the president's approval rating is down, I think he said, 11 percent," Reid said. | | Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

Alert | Hmmm...Different source I guess. I have read where it si 19%. The disapproval for Congress and Georgie are about the same. Fact is, its propoganda. Look at the title of the post.....Single digits..it's simply not true. Go ahead, shift the blame.
What else do you expect when we are in the midst of a recession?? The Dems on Congress don't have the numbers needed to pass any legislation.

Alert | The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category. Jhall must watch Fox News all day, waiting for something to post on here. Oh, as opposed to watching the oh so fair and balanced other news channels? Give me a break; Fox News is no worse than any other channel. I watch them all with a grain of salt (if I watch them at all...).

Alert | I'll stick to it, this headline is nothing but spin.
Even some of you whine and complain conservatives seem like you have a good head on your shoulders. You may have a warped sense of reality, but you are able to form coherent thoughts. Do you really believe that Congress has a low approval rating because the Dems have the majority? Do you?
Even though the Senate is at 49-D, 49-R, and 2-I, you want to blast Congress. How about the fact that the Republicans are filibustering like it is going out of style? Is it any wonder why the approval rating is so low when the Republican won't let anything go through?

Alert | I don’t know how low the Congress rating is, but I do know that it’s at an all time low. I also know that we have no one to blame but ourselves. For many years we’ve elected politicians that supported a strange belief that the world is warming and that humanity is causing it. We humans have always been too trusting and that has made us very gullible. What amazes me is that anyone can be gullible enough to believe that fuels made with oil bought from other countries will slow the warming more than fuels made from our own oil. We’re still using the same amount of fossil fuels and still putting the same amount of pollutants into the earth’s atmosphere. The pollutants are just coming from a different source, foreign oil rather than our own! Even if we are responsible for global warming, how is what we’re doing reducing emissions? And another thing. We have the technology to drill for oil without contaminating the soil around the drilling rigs or the ocean water around the off-shore platforms. Why are we trusting other countries, many that couldn’t care less about the environment, to do the drilling and production of oil for us. If we were really concerned about the global environment we certainly wouldn’t want that situation to continue even one day longer! In the last 10 years there have been plenty of warnings that developing nations like China would need more oil and that it would create an energy shortage. Several attempts have been made to get Congress to lift the Congressional ban on drilling for oil off-shore and in the ANWR as a means of avoiding the energy crisis. These attempts always failed. I guess because of that silly belief that fuels made from oil from other countries don’t pollute the earth’s atmosphere like the use of our own! If members of Congress don’t think this way, then why haven’t they made any efforts during the 27 years of the domestic drilling ban to develop an alternative source of energy? Hello! This country runs on oil. It will take 25 year to wean us from fossil fuels! Sooner or later (hopefully sooner) we are going to wake up to the fact that we’re being lead down the path of self destruction as a free nation. I think every seat in the House is up for grabs in November. We would be wise to make sure that only the non-gullible members are re-elected. We need leaders, not followers.

Alert | | I don't understand why Bushs' approval rating isn't lower. Do people actually think we are fighting the "terrorists" in Iraq so we don't have to fight them here? He has done such harm to this country with his irresponsible ways and abuse of executive power.

He has done such harm to this country with his irresponsible ways and abuse of executive power. The Bush administration and the war in Iraq is almost history! Now, I ask you to join with me in November by voting for candidates who will vote to; 1) keep taxes low and; 2) develop domestic energy resources quickly so that the 700 Billion dollars we spend annually on foreign oil, can be spent here instead! .

Well, once we abolish abortion and ban gay marriages, this country should be in good shape. People who have abortions and and people who are gay have been victimized by needless high oil prices just like everyone else.
