The problem comes from people not taking marriage seriously. I love my wife and am happy with her. People have turned into these selfish instant gratification creatures loosing all sense of self respect. Gay marriage is nothing more then one step closer to the destruction of family and culture.

Yeahhhh!! I don't know there jhall, is this really your thought or are you simply quoting  Senator Larry Craig???

You are one step closer to making me puke. I thought opinions like yours were just a stereotype/fictional....I was sadly mistaken.

Maybe these gay/lesbians do take it seriously? Don't you think if they didn't , they wouldn't get married. Speaking of serious, let us not forget that more than HALF of heterosexual marriages end in divorce. How's that for serious??

Clearly you are not following me.... as usual. I don't think most do because divorce is so high. And by most I mean a man and a woman where the plumbing works.

It really irks me when people argue against same sex marriage by saying that it makes a mockery of the sanctity of marriage. Marriage between heterosexuals is a joke! The divorce rate is at 50%. People are getting married, 2, 3, 4 and more times. Spouses are cheating on each other. Spouses are abousing and killing each other and their children. There isn't much more heteros can do to ruin the "sanctity" of marriage.

Why aren't we up in arms over Britney Spears being married for a few hours? Why don't we make a fuss because Elizabeth Taylor and Larry King have been married multiple times? Or when it's our own family and friends? We just accept it as the norm.

Sorry I forgot having morals and not adapting to the current popular opinions was foolish. Please inform MTV that I am not their tool.

Everyone has a right to their opininon and their own set of morals, but to push it on other people in this case is ridiculous. The super religious right break the sixth commandment everyday and think its ok...........

Current popular opininon would be against gays, and anything that isn't the mindset of the southern baptists in charge of this country........

Please inform the extreme religious right they are not Christian and Jesus will judge them for their blasphemy.......

I love it how the religious right.. (baptist, catholic, Mormon, etc...) are dead against same-sex marriage.. because somehow it will "soil" the sanctity of marriage..lol.. even though most all religions share a high divorce rate...lol..

ALL marriage should be outlawed.

There would be no more:

illegitimate children

divorce

adultery

premarital sex

You get 4 birds with 1 stone.

Aside from the question of whether gays should marry, it will eventually affect all our lives. Marriage is for the purpose of procreation, and that's the way God intended it.

Read some history and you will find that societies involved with this type of thing were eventually destroyed. That's exactly what's been happening in America. We're on the fast track to destruction, and if Barack HUSSEIN Obama should, God forbid, become president, this country will be lost sooner than we expect.

The Netherlands legalized gay marriage in 2001.  I just checked google and they haven't been destroyed, yet.

desertgal, how much time must elapse before a country is destroyed?

I am a Christian, but not everyone is. There has to be another unifying system that we can coexist in.

By the way my post was not meaning to imply that gays can’t be Christian, but rather that Christians need to stop dealing with people as if there’s no diversity, or human rights within that diversity.

When god gave Moses the ten commandments did he say follow these as long as it's trendy and acceptable or were they to be followed always? The Roman empire is a fine example of what happens when homosexuality is acceptable along with giving attorneys the power to destroy the country from the inside out. ** Cough cough ACLU, Cair, etc** Have you looked into the Netherlands lately? They are on the verge of bankruptcy due to their socialistic system. France was on the same path, at least they have Sarcozy to clean up the wake of destruction socialist leaders left behind.

...and if Barack HUSSEIN Obama...

The only reason the US will decline is because the voters who think THAT statement has ANY bearing to his credentials.. ah yes, people have a way of appealing to the lowest common denominator..

What next? should the Dems link the name of GEORGE W. Bush to the great tyrant, King GEORGE the 3rd???

ROFL!!

Christians don’t live under Mosaic Law but under grace.
