Rush Limbaugh, Conservative Republican, launched "Operation Chaos" in February. He encouraged Republicans to re-register as Democrats and vote for Hillary in the primaries because he believes the Democratic Party would be in chaos up to the DNC convention if there was no solid nominee.

However, in Ohio, it is a felony to register to a political party when you don't believe in what that party stands for. Is Rush encouraging Republicans to commit a felony? If something happened to these Republicans, God forbid, before they could re-register to their own party, would they burn for eternity for signing their soul away to the devil? How do these Republicans explain to their children that the family is now Democrat? Is this not a Flip-Flop?

Here is a quote from Wikipedia about what Rush said:

"On March 27, 2008, Limbaugh said 'The dream end of this [of Operation Chaos] is that this keeps up to the convention, and that we have a recreation of Chicago 1968 with burning cars, protests, fire, and literal riots and all of that, that is the objective here [of Operation Chaos].'"

Does Rush Limbaugh want burning cars, protests, fire and riots in the streets? If you are a Republican do you want these things happening in America? Is this not what the terrorists want: chaos in America? Isn't that why they hijacked those planes on 9/11 to create chaos in America? Have the terrorists already won?

What a genious! It has worked so far, hasn't it?

(I don't think he literally wants it to go as far as the burning cars and riots. But to draw a figurative image in your mind to understand the extent of the chaos that he is hoping for within just the Democratic Party nominee camps and the superdelegates faced with the decision. A decision that is much more chaotic if there is not a clear nominee before the DNC.)

Also, my father is a Republican but for YEARS has been a registered Democrat so he could vote in their primary. I don't think that is a new strategy worth getting riled up over.

Both sides play this game. A few months ago some leftist web sites were encouraging Dems to vote for McCain to keep him in the race so that Reps would spend money fighting each other. It has been tried before and as far as I know has never worked. As for Rush's verbiage, political hyperbole. You may note that it is the season for it.

Rex, surely you jest.....

"However, in Ohio, it is a felony to register to a political party when you don't believe in what that party stands for. "

Boy I would sure like to see that law in writing before I believe it. Even if it were true, how would you enforce it? You got the thought police out there examining people's minds? Make voters take lie detectors? C'mon, get real!

Burning cars and riots...haha...only leftists do that stuff.

This thread is a joke right?

Do I declare my political party affiliation when I register?
No. Under Ohio law, your political party affiliation is determined by the ballot you cast in a partisan primary election.

Above web site and specific is all I could find on PP afiliation. Will be looking for the thought felony info.

Ohio's revised election code includes an election falsification clause (Revised Code 3513.20), which says that if a voter who changes parties is challenged by poll workers as to the sincerity of his change of heart and also signs an affidavit stating that he supports the principles of the party to which he's changing -- when in fact he doesn't support them -- then he would be committing election falsification. Election falsification is a felony that is punishable by six to twelve months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

have never known Rex to be mendacious in all his posts.

seems you sign an affidavit if challenged and then Ohio has to prove you are being untruthful.  Prosecution is difficult and hard to prove.  Over 16000 voters crossed over in Ohio.

Thanks OBG2. I didn't think it was true

It is a felony to commit voter fraud. You would have to vote to do that. Party registration means nothing until you vote.

IMO this topic is political spin to create a fuss where none exists. Burning cars? C'mon.....haha

Oh yeah Read the last paragraph on the blog that OBG linked
By the way, cross over voting for purposes of affecting an election isn't limited to Republicans. A spokesman for the Ohio secretary of state's office said it always happens in presidential elections and also occurred during the 2006 gubernatorial primary election when Democratic voters crossed over to cast ballots in the Republican primary for Kenneth Blackwell because they thought he would more likely lose in a race against the Democratic candidate for governor.

This kind of stuff goes back a hundred years to Tammany Hall and other political machines. Rex, why don't you look into Chicago politics? Unless of course you have an agenda?

So, Pepperdog, do you want chaos and riots in America? It appears Rush does. Isn't there a law against inciting a riot? Isn't Rush's ultimate goal to create chaos in America. Is this a shared goal of the terrorists?

You're either with US or you're with the terrorists.

I have an agenda. I heard a rumor that 85239.com might go out of business. I hope it is not true because I like 85239.com. I added new topics in an effort to spark interest and increase traffic here. :-)

Ok, I can kinda see what you are doing, but the topics/bebates you are satarting are on the absurd side.

Operation choas has nothing to do with riots or terrorists.  You attempting to make it that connection makes you look absurd.  Same with the lapel pin discussion.

So you are kidding then....Ok I get that.

Can you explain this further?  The hypocrit part, not the loser part.

Thanks

Rush is an idiot and a hypocrite. Below are some quotes. The man is quick to put drug users away but when he gets addicted everything is fine and dandy.

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use, too many whites are getting away with drug sales, too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be
convicted and they ought to be sent up."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

Caveman, you may be right in your opinion but this post doesn't prove it.  Yes it is well known he was addicted to prescription pain killers....but the fact that he believes white drug users should do time combined with the inability of the local authorities to put him behind bars I think actually goes more toward proving his point than making him a hypocrite.

Once again Rush is right!.......Hahahaha!
