Alert | drummer 72, I don't really understand your remark, The commies are coming, I'm not overly bright as you seem to think yourself as being, seems like with 2575 posts on here you spend most of your waking time on this site trying to put other people on here down with your vast intelligence, It's a shame that all of us on here aren't as brilliant as you, and we don't have the drive to sit in front of the computer all day and post smart remarks to the ones that you think of as below you. I'm still glad OBG posted the info about Obama's mother, and I don't care if you like it or not, you can make all the smart remarks that you want, that don't make you the better man.

I never said I was a better man or better than anyone else. Oddly enough, I believe we are all equal and should be treated as so. Just search for some of my other 3 millions post. You'll find nothing that says I'm better.
The commies are coming remark, was just a remark about how people are scared into believing that america will be communist IF Obama is elected. Also, I have publicy announced by stupidity towards politics. I'm here for the Longhaul... ...just like you. Either love me or hate me, I could care less. Your opinion means nothing to me. | | <--- Say his name anyway way you want, but it's pronounced(nov 08) Mr. President.

I do not think that Obama is a Marxist. We must take care when we use such terms. I doubt very much that Obama advocates a dictatorship of the proletariat and government control of all means of production. Having said that, one must admit that Obama suffers from the defining ailment of the left, he thinks that government is the best answer to almost any problem. This attitude was made obvious when, in the Congressional hearings on the price of oil, one of the more liberal Democratic members threatened the oil co. executives with nationalization of the industry ( she obviously has little understanding of, or respect for, the constitution). If you think that oil prices are high now, what do you think would happen if the government ran the industry?

Alert | McCain is too old and will die of old age in office. So we will have to see if the VP candidate he chooses is of any relevance.
Hillary cares about two things in this country. 1) Health Care 2) Education And while that may be fine and dandy to most of you. This county has MUCH bigger problems.
Obama came out of nowhere. He was off the map politically even in the last election. He has a small track record and is looked at as the gamble.
McCain vs. Hillary = McCain (Hilary is a flip flopper like Kerry and sorry this country is sexist) McCain vs. Obama =Obama (people would rather throw the dice) | | "Don't mistake lack of talent for genius"

Alert | Unfortunately, no matter who is elected, they will have almost no power to influence the price of gas in the short or mid term. The price of the oil that we must import is controlled by OPEC, and many members of that organization have no desire to do us ,or the west in general, any favors. The time to act was in the 1970s after the oil embargo demonstrated our vulnerability to such economic blackmail. Since then, Presidents and Congresses of both parties have, to their shame, shirked their responsibilities.. It is a sad truth that it is the nature of politicians to look to the next election not to the long term good of the nation when they consider legislation. Energy, Social Security, health care, immigration, deficit reduction, balance of payments, and education, are just a few of the long term problems ignored by politicians of both parties, who would rather use a ban aid approach that will get them through the next election. So, any politician who tells us that he has a plan to take the pain out of oil prices is lying. That should not surprise us, as lying to a politician is like flying to a bird.

Alert | I think the republicans should have this election in the bag based on morals and past behavior. How many leftards attacked Bush for doing drugs in his youth? Well Obama did coke by his own admittance... and there is a story floating around about him involved in gay sex and crack in 1999. Check it out: http://www.pageoneq.com/news/2008/Man_to_take_polygraph_to_prove_he_had_gay_sex_did_cocaine_with_Senator_Ob_0219.html
I'm not saying this guy is telling the truth, in fact I don't care. I do care that Obama CHOSE to party and do drugs in his youth while McCain CHOSE to serve his country. I care that Obama gives speeches on the evils of capitalism and acquiring things like big houses and nice suits... but has he looked in the mirror lately? Obama is nothing but a left wing politician who has HIGHLY questionable CLOSE relationships with racist, violent, anti-semetic, anti-American people. Don't birds of a feather flock together?
I am still waiting for someone to tell me what Obama has accomplished..... anyone?

Alert | Rob, Great article. "Sen. Obama's foreign policy seems to be somewhere between Rodney King's "Can't we just get along?" and Alfred E. Neuman's "What, me worry?"
So why then are so many people blindly following this left-wing kook? Its almost like the "Anybody But Bush" crowd returned.

Alert | Obama scares me only because it is almost a cinch that the Democrats are going to retain control of Congress. My wife and I are retired and we just can't afford the tax increases it will take to pay for all the socialist programs they'll push through. Also, the fact that as long as they're in control, our oil companies will not be allowed to drill for our own oil and we'll continue to be held hostage by OPEC and environmental extremists. Pretty scary, huh!

Not necessarily! Counting oil reserves under the State of North Dakota, ANWR, and our off-shore areas, we have enough oil to last us at least 50 years without buying another drop from anyone else. All our oil companies are waiting for is Congressional approval to drill and build the refineries to refine it into desparately needed gasoline, jet & diesel fuel, and by-products like paraffin wax, tar, etc. that are used to make a host of products, providing employment to many folks outside the oil industry.
