Presidential candidate stops wearing American Flag Lapel Pin.

John McCain met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown last month. The photo of them clearly shows McPanama NOT wearing an American Flag lapel pin. Does McPanama hate America? This is not the first time I've seen him not wearing the pin. He must hate America according to what Republicans have said in the past about other candidates who stop wearing the American Flag pin. Why hasn't the so-called liberal media reported this?

Yes the whole thing is ridiculous. Lets not discuss real issues, instead let point fingers and do lots of flag wavin' and chest pounding over who loves/hates America more.

I guess since a majority of people are stupid we get what we deserve in all these clowns.

Thanks,
Higgs

Obama is a very smart man.  He purposely does things like this to divert our attention from real issues about his character.  Like his voting record as a Illinois State Senator.

I don't think Obama is the one who pointed this American Flag Lapel Pin thing out. I think it was the whacko conservative media. They've convinced Americans that if you don't have an American Flag bumper sticker on your car, you hate America. And anyone who has two American Flag bumper stickers on their car loves America twice as much as the guy who only has one American Flag bumper sticker.

BTW: Have you seen McCain's voting record? Or lack thereof?

This is only HALF the list. I got tired of posting at "E" Executive Branch Issues from this vote record site: http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=53270

McCain is also an Honorary Board Member for Kids Voting Arizona. He's setting a great example.

To be fair you can visit all candiates voting record at http://www.votesmart.org

I don't have the time to do the listings like rex did, but here are some summaries for all candiates. McCain has the longest voting record, and Obama the shortest, so for Clinton and McCain I listed less than 50%'s for the whole term and just during the same time frame as Obama.  They are all interesting based on what the candiates are running on!

For Obama, he was Absent from 50% of more of these categories of votes:

Abortion Issues
Agriculture Issues
(((Budget, Spending and Taxes he actually voted 51% of the time)))
Civil Liberties and Civil Rights
Education
(((Environmental Issues he voted 54% of the time)))
Family and Children Issues
Federal, State, and Local Relations
Health Issues
Housing and Property Issues.
Indigenous Peoples
Reproductive Issues
Technology and Communication
Transportation Issues
Welfare and Poverty
Women's Issues

Now for Clinton. She has a lot longer voting record than Obama does, and most of her earlier votes she was there 100% for. If we took the same period as Obama's, we would be adding these~ ((( Abortion Issues, Budget, Spending and Taxes, Business and Consumers, Education, Health Issues, Environmental Issues, Transportation Issues, Veterans Issues))) but with the full history, here are the 50%'s or less:

Agriculture Issues
Housing and Property Issues
Indigenous Peoples
Reproductive Issues
Technology and Communication
Welfare and Poverty
Women's Issues

And finally a summary of McCain's: He has the longest voting record. ( Here are the one's that would be added with Obama's same time frame, Abortion Issues, Agriculture Issues, Budget, Spending and Taxes, Energy Issues, Executive Branch, Family and Children Issues, Foreign Aid and Policy Issues, Gun Issues, Health Issues, Veterans Issues, Welfare and Poverty,

Then below the one's that are 50% Absent over his whole time in Congress:

Business and Consumers
Environmental Issues
Federal, State, and Local Relations
Housing and Property Issues
Immigration
Indigenous Peoples
Reproductive Issues
Transportation Issues

Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

I think the problem is that Obama actually commented on why he didn't want to wear the pin. So, he admitted that he was personally opposed to wearing it. McCain probably forgot to put it on that day or something. He has never said that he chooses not to wear it. That could be why liberal media doesn't attack him for it. I don't think anyone is expected to wear it EVERY second.

voting in america...where who wears a stupid lapel pin decides the next president! it is far easier to decide on criteria like this, rather than on the merits of each contestant in this show...

Yes the whole thing is ridiculous. Lets not discuss real issues, instead let point fingers and do lots of flag wavin' and chest pounding over who loves/hates America more.

I guess since a majority of people are stupid we get what we deserve in all these clowns.

Why are you always so quick to call others stupid,Higgs?

In case you didn't know, there are others much smarter than you...

One thing that smart people know is how much they don’t know. Stupid people on the other hand do not like knowledge, experience, and expertise; they are the champions of the logical fallacy of “everyone is entitled to their opinion”.

I admit, I am of average intelligence, ok maybe slightly higher than average  but this is not really an issue of intelligence. What makes me different and I would say “smarter” than the average person is that I am willing to put in the time and effort educating myself on issues that I feel are important. I try to understand the issues using logic and reason and not be swayed by my emotions and rhetoric. I am open to changing my mind on any issue if I see enough evidence to persuade me.

When I was in college I went to some meeting of the Socialist Party of Wisconsin, and signed a petition to get them on the ballet. When I was 19 socialism seemed like a great idea, as I got older and did more research I realized I believed in it because it’s a purely emotional “feel good” philosophy, it cannot work for very real logical and economic reasons.

So I am certainly open minded and willing to change my position on any issue, as far as these forums go you and the other local liberals haven’t really provided any compelling evidence for any of your beliefs, most the time what we get from you guys is “Bush is dumb” and “Republicans are evil” (ok, this one is partially true), in the end I guess this isn’t the place for serious political discussions anyway.

Also keep in mind my “Smart A**ery” is somewhat part of my online persona, I am slightly less of a jerk in real life, but I am still smarter than you.

Thanks,
Higgs

All I can is that you must be pretty whacked, or simply very shallow if, after reading this article that clearly shows a defining difference in one of candidates and all you take out of it is lapel pins. Very shallow indeed. There are many issues that can be debated in this article and all you can bring to the forum is lapel pins....

The purpose of the article was to show that McBush was not wearing his American Flag Lapel Pin.

I didn't think the American Flag Lapel Pin was a big deal until the Republicans went after Obama for it. Meanwhile, McPanama was in Denver and Phoenix recently and was still not wearing his American Flag Lapel Pin. Golly gee, he must hate America, right? That's what the Republicans have suggested.

No, the purpose of the article was to highlight McCain's position on issues, part of which is his position on Iraq. You purpose of posting it may have been about the lapel pin. That is a big difference, and a good example of how you try to spin stuff. Noone has made an issue of anyone else wearing a lapel pin because the canditates haven't made an issue of it, except of course Obama.

Again, you can't be serious, or you must think people are really stupid.....Oh yeah, you're trying to keep this site from going bankrupt....yeah I get it....
