In today's news there is a rumor that Condoleezza Rice would like to be on the ticket with John McCain.  I guess the two together would make sense from the standpoint that he is a white male, she a black female.  They would have all the bases covered.

However, I then thought back to a couple of months ago to something the Donald (Trump that is) said about her.  (I don't usually care much for him, but he was making observations about different people and they were "spot on".  Anyway, he said all she does is wave a lot.  Whenever she enters a room for a picture taking  with heads of state she waves the whole time until  she sits down.  On leaving she does the "wave" thing again.  It's true.

Then I pictured a McCain/Rice ticket and I could see McCain at a podium making a speech and while he is talking she is in the background behind him walking back and forth across the stage waving the whole way.   Her wave is so perfected she makes beauty contestents envious.  The more I thought of such an image the more I laughed.  SNL should do such a spoof!   LOL, LOL.

That would be a funny SNL skit.

Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

I would love to see Dr. Rice on the ticket, it would be a great counterbalance to Obama's race baiting and the Democrats perpetual themes of victimhood and class warfare rhetoric.

While Obama was attending an elite private school in Hawaii Condi Rice was living in the segregated south.

"Those terrible events burned into my consciousness. I missed many days at my segregated school because of the frequent bomb threats."

What is great is how their family reacted to these events, here are people who really were victims, but they didnt let that consume them, they succeeded in spite of this by working harder and not sitting back and waiting for society to repay them.

During the violent days of the Civil Rights Movement, Reverend Rice armed himself and kept guard over the house while Condoleezza practiced the piano inside. According to J.L. Chestnut, Reverend Rice called local civil rights leader Fred Shuttlesworth and his followers "uneducated, misguided Negroes." Also, Reverend Rice instilled in his daughter and students that black people would have to prove themselves worthy of advancement, and would simply have to be "twice as good" to overcome injustices built into the system.Ζ] Rice said “My parents were very strategic, I was going to be so well prepared, and I was going to do all of these things that were revered in white society so well, that I would be armored somehow from racism. I would be able to confront white society on its own terms.”Η] While the Rices supported the goals of the civil rights movement, they did not agree with the idea of putting their child in harm's way.

Rice was eight when her schoolmate Denise McNair, aged 11, was killed in the bombing of the primarily black Sixteenth Street Baptist Church by white supremacists on September 15, 1963. Rice has commented upon that moment in her life:

I remember the bombing of that Sunday School at 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham in 1963. I did not see it happen, but I heard it happen, and I felt it happen, just a few blocks away at my father’s church. It is a sound that I will never forget, that will forever reverberate in my ears. That bomb took the lives of four young girls, including my friend and playmate, Denise McNair. The crime was calculated to suck the hope out of young lives, bury their aspirations. But those fears were not propelled forward, those terrorists failed.⎖]

– Condoleezza Rice, Commencement 2004, Vanderbilt University, May 13, 2004

I disagree with the Bush Administration's foreign policy views, but I think Rice would bring a great dynamic to this race, and I think her personal story is more compelling than Obama's.

Thanks,
Higgs

Liberalism and capitalism address themselves to the cool, well-balanced mind. They proceed by strict logic, eliminating any appeal to the emotions. Socialism, on the contrary, works on the emotions, tries to violate logical considerations by rousing a sense of personal interest and to stifle the voice of reason by awakening primitive instincts.

Wow, that was inspiring. I did not know that about her past. I do know she is very accomplished. Unfortunately though, she has said that she does not want to be in an elected political position. So we'll see.

I wish SNL would do a spoof on how Barry O. always says "uh" about 20 times in every one of his sentences. IT DRIVES ME UP THE WALL. It sounds like he is trying to think too hard about what he is about to say so that he won't say the wrong lie. Newsflash, if you speak the truth you don't have to think so hard about choosing your words!

I remember Rice eluding to not wanting to be an elceted official, but rather be a commissioner for the NBA, I believe.....I am serious.

I for one would love to see her in office.

Rice would make an excellent VP and even better POTUS.
