Alert | I am just going to say this... Under Dogs have Big Bites!!!!
You never know how this is going to turn out. We gave IND it's first loss of the season 2 years ago and I think if we are hungry enough we will be able to give you yours This year!!!
New England is tough.... or maybe they had to play tough just so they can get past the problems of last season. No matter how you look at it... they are coming out on top from the scandals of last year.
P.S.
Could you point out the fan in the stands who is video taping the defensive coaches this year?

I'm with ya Sinbad.
In the football standings in the NY Post, they have an asterisk next to the Patriots -- at the bottom of the standings, it says **CAUGHT CHEATING

Alert | That's why they kicked everyones butts this year ... They had to!
It's going to be one heck of a game if the Chargers show up to play. It might very well be the game of the century! Both teams using the weapons of choice to win....
Charger weapons LT, Rivers, Clamarti,
Patriots Weapons Brady, NIKON 35 mm digital camera, 16 mm film projector, Top of the line film equipment for 20x zoom.
It's going to be a great game!!

Alert | Major props for beating Indy!! HUGE grey area on that alleged cheating episode. I'm sure this happens more than we all think. Yes, by your team too.
BTW....they named Bellichick coach of the year. Another 2-3 trophies will be on the way!!
And you're right it's going to be a great game!

Given the 20 seconds Brady has to scan the field, I'd say it's effective.

As much as I like LT (class act just like Barry Sanders and Walter Payton) I actually want the Patriots to win.
I am tired of hearing about the 72 Dolphins as the greatest team ever just because they went undefeated.
Brady is a class act possibly best ever and Bellicheck is the best coach- no real arguing those if look at the numbers.
As far as the 'scandal' there are plenty of players, ex-players, and coaches that have said Patriots are not the only ones that do that and there is no way it could help in the game being played. It could help in a second game but they have 20 different tape angles of game film to look at as well.
That is the reason they have blown people out though. To prove a point.
Patriots beat the Packers in the Super Bowl- Farve retires and this goes down as one of the greatest seasons ever for the NFL! | | "The jouney of life is as much in oneself' as the roads one travels"

Alert | LT..class act? Are you kdding me? The Chargers are far from a class act. From Rivers who get into shouting matches with fans after a win (not to mention yells at opposing sidelines from the safety of his own sideline), Merriman who has a stupid little dance after he gets a sack (while on roids), to LT who belittles his QB whenever he gets the chance on the sideline.
Class Act...I think not.

Didn't say anything about Merriman or Rivers - I don't like either one of them! I am not familiar with the story of LT belittling the QB every chance he gets. Do you have any links to stories to support this? | | "The jouney of life is as much in oneself' as the roads one travels"

Alert | You need links? Do you have any links saying he is a class act?
All you need to do was watch Sportscenter throughout the year and you would've seen this happen numerous times.
One article.. http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/22332
Another... LT calling out Belichick last year after he lost.... http://www.sptimes.com/2007/01/15/Bucs/Tomlinson_steaming_af.shtml I guess when his teammate Merriman talks trash and does a dance it is fun. WHen the opponent copies his dance it is a classless act by the other teams head coach?
By far the best response.... "You can't celebrate on my field! First the Patriots try to buy up all our tickets, then they come from behind and ruin our big football party. What a bunch of meanies! If they want to celebrate then they should quietly exchange handshakes and pleasantries in the privacy of their locker room, where I don't have to see it!
The Patriots may have won the game, but they don't have class. We have class. I wonder if you can trade class for a coach that doesn't lay down in the playoffs or a safety that won't fumble after making a game-saving interception?
Another thing, you can't do the 'Lights Out' dance. Only 'roided up dip***** and seizure patients are allowed to do that dance. How would you like it if I stole somebody else's gimmick? Take it from good old 'L.T.,' I would never stoop that low." Suzy Kolber

Alert | Yeah I need links. I have a life and do not take sports very seriously.
Everyone has their issues after a bad loss. LT is not the only player to get into it on the sidelines or behind closed doors with teammates. Everybody praises Michael Jordan but the dude was a complete jerk and fought with players in the locker room- it never came out at the time only a few journalists & broadcasters will say so even now- because he was the NBA's golden boy.
It is disrespecting to dance or celebrate on another teams logo- I played 3 sports and that was not tolerated in any of them.
I look at what LT has done over his career and in his community- a couple outbursts over a bad loss and with a suspect QB- after losing a good QB, Coach, and coordinators do not ruin that. | | "The jouney of life is as much in oneself' as the roads one travels"

Alert | I beg to differ... A class act does not do that. If you choose to get into it w/ your QB, I believe that is should be done (as you said) behind closed doors. LT chooses to do it in front of teammates, coaches, fans, cameras, etc.. Being a sore sport is a reason to call people out? Maybe, but from my perspective, class acts simply say, "We lost to a better team. We need to work harder. Etc.." Also, the Pats mimicked the Merriman dance on the sideline. LT did his class-act confrontaional stuff at midfield.
Watching sports means that we have no life? Dude, get a grip. I'm simply pointing to the fact that LT is not a class act.

I see your point and do not argue there are better ways to handle these issues. It is easy to sit back and make these evaluations from our living rooms after the fact. I am sure many players have seen themselves on tv after a game and thought "Did I really do that?". There are of course different issues when you are involved in the game and dealing with it personally and in real time.
As far as the no life comment- No watching sports and enjoying sports do not mean you don't have a life ( I enjoy them myself). Your first post had a tone of someone that cares a little too much about sports.
That is one of the problems with forums- things can be viewed different than intended. Whether it is the way it is written or the way it is read there is an element that always gets lost in translation.
No offense intended.
On a lighter note- who are your picks in the games?

Alert | Picks are tough... On paper, it looks like the Pack and Pats should dominate. The weather will play a big part in NE! If it is windy, that could neutralize Brady and the Volek factor could also be neutralized. San Diego was playing very well last week. They beat the Colts, built-in speakers that pump in crowd noise, The Colts very own officiating crew and did it all with LT getting 8 carries and Gates having 2 receptions. It may be closer than people expect.
Giants have been tough on the road but Lambeau is a different story.
