Alert | What is this i hear, There will be no leauge for our Juniors? Thats a great idea, lets leave our 13-14 ear olds with nothing to do over the summer!! If Maricopa is to have a successfull High School Baseball program it starts with our kids playing Year round!! Parents we all need to put some pressure on the parks and rec's and little leauge!!

Alert | | The rumor states that there would be no fields for them to play on! thus no leauge. That relates to parks and rec for pacana park since they provide the fields.

Alert | | they cant play at pacana the fields are not big enough. they are softball fields. They used to play at the high school but with all of the construction there are no fields to play on. This is nothing new for this year we all knew it was coming we just never came up with a solution. It is tough but there is no way around it. | | Member formerly known as soccerlovinfamily Member Posts: 173 Joined: Feb 2007

Alert | | yes there is one field that I know of that the kids did play at last year thanks to Mr Chavez and yes I am sure they looked into that but with that being the only field in town for that age group including the high school kids to. I am sure ak chin is being bumbarded with requests. Not sure what happend but they must not have been able to secure that field. it is part of the growing pains we all have to feel. next season will be great with the high school being completed. | | Member formerly known as soccerlovinfamily Member Posts: 173 Joined: Feb 2007

Alert | | I'm sorry son this is just part of the growing pains you will have to endure!! are you serious! The leauge can find ways to have a little leauge season why not a juniors team! Are they going to have to play in stansfield or should we just tell them that they will have to take a year off and hopefully there skills will remain when they come back?? This sounds like the same b.s. that was told to us last year when there was not going to be a little leauge playoffs but all the sudden when pressure was applied we had them!!

Alert | don't hurt yourself while you pat yourself on the back for getting playoffs. The league never communicated the need for fields to the city for playoffs and they knew their allocation back in January 2007. Once the error was discovered, the city cleared a lot of their stuff to help little league. This is what Jim Tomcheck told me last year. He admitted to me that they made a mistake.
If I was maricopa little league, I would reach out to Casa Grande, Stanfield about playing home games there this year if they can't get Ak Chin fields. The rennovation project at the high school hurts, the fields at Pacana are too small per Little League standards according to my neighbor and god forbid anyone use Cobblestone or the Gestapo will get you. I'm embarrassed to live in CF.

Alert | | Please do not listen to rumors! We have use of one field so far and are in discussions to get another field or two. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the League Officials directly. Both the President and the V.P. know the situation and are working as hard as possible to come up with a solution.
