My hound dog Ladybug found this critter on the breezeway last night trying to get a drink from the dog's water. He now has a place of honor in a terrarium in my office. He is a Rhinocheilus lecontei, which is Latin for Long Nosed Snake. He prefers lizards and mice, but won't turn down a bug if he's hungry. He's native to the southwest and is pretty common in Southern Arizona. He's nocturnal.

Maybe shoot so that the power lines are not in the pics? Just my two cents, but I do like the shots.

My wife got this shot last night of the fire behind the gas station last night. The fire was visible from way outside of town, we saw it all the way out by M mountain on 347.

Thanks so much! I actually like the telephone pole but would the shot be better without it? I honest don't know anything about my camera i know its a really good camera panasonic lumix DMC-FZ8 but i don't really know how to use it, which is sad cause i like to take fast moving shots and the always blur and sometimes there is a lag on the shutter and it takes the picture 5 seconds later quite fustrating so i'm really looking forward to digtal photography next year!

Thanks NukeGM.  I've been facinated by trains ever since I worked as an AT&SF switchman in Enid, Okla. one summer while still in high school.

Great shots, Nuke. You can actually see the heat coming off the engine on the top one. I hope you were using at least a 300mm lens on that shot!

Lol was using a 70-200 on that and its funny because that shot the train is moving away from me, they had 3 engines in the front and these 2 pushing at the end

Ah, trick photography! I was going to recommend a really quick shutter speed too, but it looks like you had it covered.

Thread Bumped for the future........

wink Wink!

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.
