OBG, this was the first (and only) one I've ever killed. Oh, I was cautious. My worst fear at the time is that I would miss with the shovel and he would come after me with a vengeance.

Takingabreak, chicken? How would I know

Durand, you're right about them still being venomous even after death. And until rigor sets in, just about anything can still flinch and use muscles. Eventually the venom is going to decompose right along with the body, but I wouldn't go near one that was freshly killed.

Our property is on seven acres of desert that's never been farmed or altered until we built on it. We have come across a few scorpions, two of which are in my terrarium. We have also captured a couple of tarantulas and one of those I still have in a terrarium. We have come across about a half dozen snakes, including the long nose that I have. This is the only rattler so far. I am really hoping that it stays that way.

300mm macro and remote radio-controlled shutter release - I didn't get to be this old and gray by taking unnecessary chances

Nice, I am really thinking of buying a nice setup this summer.

Granted I get to play with one of these, but a portable one would be nice, looking into getting a D series.
