A city employee was speeding in a city vehicle on a residential street. Why was this thread removed? For the safety of our residents, this should have been kept online as he is a public official.

Maybe because Sinbad ain't a cop.

Never fear, the Maricopa Jr. Detective Squad is on the case!

Thanks,
Higgs

He may not be a cop... but do you have to be a cop to recgonize wrong doing? And then let it be known?

Well then, round up the posse and go make a MJDS arrest.

Thanks,

Higgs

Sinbad,

We are removing the post about "You know who". Were you to post the name of any other person in town, we would remove the information as well. It can be considered a personal attack, harassment or posting the personal information of others. We also have to consider that, since you are not a law enforcement officer and have not filed a police report, this is not a matter of public record and is potentially libelous.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Well,

Thanks to the Admin, He is going to get a Police report put on him instead of a thread.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

The guy is a LEO and in AZ it's illegal to post his address online. I know the Shopping Cart Hero didn't post his house number, but he did point out what neighborhood he lives in, and the general area he was in. Since I doubt 239 has better lawyers and resources than The New Times, why should they risk it becoming an issue.

Hey SCH, when you "clocked" him, how did you do it? You got that G35 equipped with radar, or did you also commit the same infraction you're accusing the CEO of?

I think everyone has made a valid point...
The main point of the thread (I believe) is exposing some individuals in Law Enforcement do not obey the law. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for them. I just think he was trying to make it known that they aren't getting away with breaking the law that they are suppose to be enforcing.

I am going to assume the original thread was started in regards to a police officer.

Was this police officer on duty? Was this police officer going home? Was the police officer responding to something?

You are worried about the regard to public safety when complaining about an officer, but you are quick to disregard HIS public safety by telling people where he lives. Address or not.

Do you even understand what goes on when an officer receives a formal complaint from the general public? Thanks Sinbad, for helping to ruin police moral. No wonder people get treated so poorly by the cops.

It wasn't a cop, although cops shouldn't be speeding in our neighborhoods either, unless they had their lights on.

It was a City of Maricopa employee in a City of Maricopa pickup truck.

It's very easy... After getting to 35 mph, I backed off and resumed going 25 mph. I never posted his address. Besides..."What's it to you?" Is he your hero or something?

It is near impossible and down-right ridiculous to drive 25 on Butterfield Parkway. There aren't any houses on that whole circle, so why isn't the speed limit at least 35? I don't get it. So, I am not raising my hand either.

Sinbad, I will go crazy, thanks to people just like you.

I will say that it is very very very hard to do 25 mph on that street, but after seeing 5 or 6 people getting tickets on it, I make sure that I am going 25 mph. Don't worry, the city will probably raise the speed limit to 35 soon.. lol

I think the reason for 25 mph is because kids and people are running, riding bikes and or just walking around that area ALL the time.
