There will be a minimally published community workshop at the Global water facility on Monday, March 3. This workshop is being presented by the Maricopa Association of Governments to present their I-8 and I-10 Hidden Valley Transportation Framework Study. The workshop begins at 6:00, I would encourage anybody who lives south of the City of Maricopa to attend. This study is chartered to identify future freeway corridors through Hidden valley and to the east into Casa Grande. As it stands right now, the study maps have a future freeway plotted to run straight through Thunderbird Farms South, and carefully avoiding undeveloped land that is owned by large developers. While the freeway won't be a reality for many years, the line on the map can be a huge impact if you ever put your house on the market. The only hope we have to control our own destiny is to show up at these meetings and get involved. |
