I'm from Lawrence, Kansas and I miss:
-sitting on a poor swing watching the summer sun setting
-my grandmother's tulips, daffodils, and iris in the spring
-having a beer at Freestate Brewery
-Having a "downtown" to hang out at
-Brownbag lunch concerts in the park
-Living in a town that's both familiar and diverse
-open prairie
-Pizza Shuttle at 3:00 am after a night at the bars

As Bertrand Russell once said, "The only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation." I think we can all appreciate the relevance of that now.

I'm from here but we were in Oregon for 18 months. I miss the rain, the clouds, the green, trees, grass, being an hour from the ocean, an hour from Mt. Hood, 5 minutes from Forest Park (I miss running in forest park), 8 hours from most of our family. I miss hiking and picking wild berries, going to the farms and getting other berries. I miss the elk that went through the land around us, the beautiful fluffy coyotes and the hawks, ospery, eagles...but the desert is nice too...

I'm from SoCA and the only thing that I do miss is the Dodger baseball games.

The list of things that I don't miss would be so long that I couldn't list them all tonight.

- The Kansas State Fair
- Incredible storms
- The excitement of a tornado - as long as no one is hurt
- Having family close by where I can drop my kids off with Grandma with only 15 min notice
- Thinking that a 30 minute commute to work is long

I'm from Eastchester, NY (and Patchogue, LI, NY) and I miss

Chinese food,
bagels with big kosher salt,
the ocean and picnics at the beach,
having tons of family (in small doses ) that surround my children with love and time,
late nights at the chinese restaurant with my long time friends, telling secrets, and laughing until my stomach hurts.

We're from Sonoma County, CA (50 miles north of San Francisco). I miss the foliage, but NOT the rain and fog that made it all so green.

twostep...I'm with you! I am also from Southern California and the only thing I miss are the flowers in my garden. I was able to grow pretty flowers all year long. The list of things I don't miss would be very long as well.

I love living in Arizona! No earthquakes.....woohoo!

Hey Sherm,

I'm from Philly and my family hailed from Reading, so I miss all those things, too. I have purchased TastyKakes and birch beer from PaPantry.com.

What I miss the most is actually what once annoyed me. I miss generations of people living in the same neighborhood. You knew people by their families. I miss having friends that stay around for longer than two years. My life has been a revolving door of friends since I left Philly.

I also miss the hustle of the city. There was an energy there that I didn't recognize until I left.

That's a bummer. I have found the complete opposite, here. People are much more friendlier here than where I am from!

WHOO! I LOVE IT!

Where in Philly are you from, if I may ask. We're originally from Reading, and I went to school in Lancaster.

A-Treat Soda! AH! Yay! This is great! We will definitely be ordering! THANK YOU!
I only wish we could order Yuengling!
Small world, huh?

I have been looking at the site, and we are already getting an order together! Hee hee....

I also miss front porches.
I'm torn about the privacy fences. I LOVE the privacy they give us, but I remember as a little kid running through everyone's backyards.
Now kids play in the street.
