Alert | When we moved to Maricopa in November 2003 the "cow smell" was 24/7. As time went on, it was always worse in the morning hours.
Anyone still smell the waf of bovine on a regular basis?

Alert | When we moved here in July, 2005 we only smelled in at night in the winter. But lately it seems to be worse. As you said, almost 24/7. Also, when we moved here there was talk that Shamrock would be selling and/or moving a large portion of their feedlots so the smell would get a lot better. Must have been all rumors as this has not happened at all. Even when the weather is nice we cannot open our windows because the smell is too much! Anyone know why the smell has become even worse?

Alert | You folks have just gotten used to it like us old timers.
You know, in regards to Shamrock and Milky Way dairy and the other two or three that are in the area. Most just built their places in the last 5 or 6 years. Some even less. I believe Pinal County offered the dairies a tax break to move out here to increase the tax base when all the building started out in Laveen and down Broadway.

Alert | | I hardly ever smell the cows, but my neighbors who just moved here recently smell them quite often. We're just getting used to the smell. That concept scared my neighbor a little - the thought of getting used to that smell & it not bother her anymore, although at the same time, she was happy about it because then she wouldn't have to smell them.

Alert | | I'm a Minnesota girl, so the smell of the cows doesnt bother me at all!! I have a family member who runs a dairy farm up in Minnesota, so I think I have become immune to the smells!

Alert | | Mooooooved here in Feb. Rarely notice the smell anymore. My dad raised registered Hereford cattle, and being a 4-H girl, I love that smell. Reminds me of home.

Alert | | I don't smell the cows. Now Hickmans - OMG. The smell of dead chickens is disgusting. Has anyone in Tortosa smelled something dead and decaying?

Alert | Yeah, it used to be so bad that even the cows would turn to each other and say, "Wow! Do you smell that?"
Luckily, it doesn't seem so bad now.
