Alert | This morning we woke up to a flooded backyard! Who would I call? Would I call a landscaper, or a plumber? My husband has tried to see if he could locate the leak himself, but he has been out there for hours with no success.
Anyone have any idea's or suggestions? Anyone have any recommendations on someone good and honest we can call?
We dont have sprinklers back there, just drips for the bushes and trees. So it's gotta be coming from the piping for those, right?

Alert | | Turn the drip system back on and see if one of the tips popped off. If so, find it and put it back on or get a new tip from the store.

Alert | If it is the backyard I would call the landscaper who installed it. You should have a warranty of some kind.
We had a leak in the front a while back, and since the home was still under warranty, and the builder did the front landscape, we went right to the builder, who then sat on the landscaper until it was fixed.
Hope you get it resolved. Our last house had major water issues in the back and front, but not due to a leak, but the grading. Standing water can be a nightmare for you and your neighbors!

Alert | Is it under warranty still? How long have you been in the home?
It all depends on these things..
PM Ratboy... he has a landscaping service if you need one.
| | Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem. ______________________________________ *************************************** San Diego Super Chargers! GO!!! Joined old forum March 2006 Post count: 3068 + these | |

Alert | Thanks guys! The home is not under warranty anymore (figures) and we have been here almost two years. It looks like the leak is coming from underneath the box in the backyard where all of the piping is, so it seems like it would be something with the PVC piping under there.
We just got done dealing with a hellish ordeal with our AC, so it figures that now something like this would happen.

Alert | | You may be able to go out where the main water line is, and shut off the valve that goes to the irrigation system for now, until you can get someone to fix it. It should shut off the water diverted to the drip system but leave the water to the house on. Hope this helps!

Alert | | I just had this happen to me a week ago, except it was the front yard. When the folks installed the underground irrigation piping, they kinked the flexible pipe and created a small hole...which over the years became a bigger one until *voila*, it exploded last week. Sounds like you may have something similar at your place...
