Alert | | Female dog was found in Senita, she obviously recently had puppies and is in front of my house, she seems to also have injured her paws from running? I am assuming cause of the heat, very friendly, if you can house her or help find her owner | | Jody

Alert | | Like tigg said she is medium sized and I honestly could not tell you the breed, seems very friendly with the kids I have given her food and water also. I will take her picture and try to upload it we're waiting a bit anyways because my husband really doesnt like driving in the rain. If anyone can house her that would be great, so we can either find her owners or find her a home. I had a half pug half shiba Inu once and she is almost the same size. | | Jody

Alert | This little sweetie is now with me. . .
But, she can't stay here too long because my cats barely can handle my 1 dog and will go nuts with another dog loose in the house - they're about to rebel! Because of this, she has to pretty much stay outside, which isn't too horrible for the night, but won't be good during the day!
I'm not sure what breed she is, but if you're missing a medium sized dog, please call and describe her see if she's yours! 480-252-3988.
Or if you can foster her, please call!!!
I will be filing found dog reports at AC&C and both vets and will have her scanned to see if she has a chip in the morning (unless someone with a scanner can do it tonight w/ Kimberly out of town).
After a very short adjustment, she seems to like other dogs and wants to play. Not sure how she is with cats because I haven't let her get near mine.

Alert | Tigg...how nice of you to take the dog from her. I thought DD was filling in for Kim. Maybe he was feeding the pigs and didn't see the post. How is her paw? Hopefully someone is looking after her puppies.....that is so sad!

Alert | Yeah DD - where are you?!?!
Her paw actually doesn't look very bad. Her paw pads look fine (to me at least, but what do I know). It looks more like she stubbed her toes - there's a little bit of clotted blood by a couple of her toenails on one paw. Her leg looks scrapped up, but it looks like that happened a while ago. She's a very happy dog and doesn't look like she's in any pain.
She just really doesn't like being stuck outside and Kuma doesn't like her being locked outside either. They're both laying by the door watching eachother.
I just can't let her in with the cats - my cats really aren't dog friendly - they barely tollerate having Kuma in the house, and that's after her being here for a few weeks less than a year and they love her!
Really - if you think she's yours or you can take her in while she looks for her family or a new family if her family can't be found, please call!
She's a very happy dog and really wants to go home and her puppies must be hungry by now! Hopefully someone has found them and is taking care of them.

Alert | If it gets to be a pain, give me a call. I can come pick her up or give you directions to bring her here, but I will warn you, it's out in the middle of nowhere I hate to get her all the way down here if someone up in town is looking for her though.

Alert | Thanks DD! - I'll take her over to Maricopa Wells in the morning to get scanned for a chip. I'll give you a call after someone has had at least a little bit of a chance to claim her.
At least she has a safe place to sleep for the night and some food and water and has gotten some playtime in. She was a little scared at first, but is happy as can be now (other than really wanting inside to play).
I'm mostly worried about leaving her outside during the day - my yard isn't set up to keep her cool in the daytime heat. My patio is pretty shaded, but still. . . she really just wants to be with people/other animals. She's laying right up against the door waiting to be let in
Hopefully she'll have a microchip and/or her owner will call.
Someone must be missing her - she's very sweet.

Alert | How dare Kimberly go on vacation ;-)
We had our own little drama here too and could have used Kimberly. There was a cat stuck on the neighbor's roof for 2-3 days. Last night, I heard this horrible crying but couldn't determine where it was coming from. Then this evening I heard it again and this is about 4-5 house up the street, but still didn't know what was happening.
A neighbor came over and said there was a cat stuck on the roof. The lady behind that house had been listening to it for a few days. Finally, her neighbor brought over a huge ladder and knocked on the door where the cat was sitting on the roof, but no answer.
The man propped the ladder up against to house. I ran and got tuna and the kitty came over to eat. I am sure after this many days up there it was starving. The cat didn't like men so I had to grab him/her off the roof while it was eating the tuna. Thankfully, she came to the edge of the roof, close enough for us to grab her. She was beautiful and a great cat. The lady took her to her house because I would be homeless if I brought one more cat home.
Very pretty cat, but a little stupid too. I don't understand how the cat just couldn't jump down. It is very sad to think he/she was up there all this time even in today's storm. Poor baby!
No one has posted for a lost kitty of this color either....very strange.
Tuesday needs to hurry and come soon!!!! Kim....we miss you already!

Alert | This thread is making me sad! Im so worried for the mom and her puppies! I hope good news comes out of it! I would help take care of her but I have a male puppy thats a little fire ball and he wouldnt make mom to happy! But Im sure if these puppies are okay he would love to be a big brother to one of those. I hope the mom wasnt on her way to save a puppy it sounds like someone might of taken them and she tried finding them. I had this happen to me when the mom tried to save a duckling and died and then all the other babies died it was the worst thing ever! But hopefully this story isnt as dramatic | | Bye Bye Maricopa!

Alert | Mom is safe but I am worried about the puppies. This dog pretty much just walked up to Jody's house from what I understand, so it doesn't seem like she was looking for her puppies I know she got out when they opened their garage door and then came right back to them before Jody brought her to my house, so she wasn't ready to escape from being found.
Hopefully her family is found soon. If it isn't, I'm sure she will make someone a wonderful pet! She will love you forever. She's pretty clean, so I don't think she's been out on her own for too long. She was pretty thirsty and I know she was pretty hungry when Jody first took her in, but I gave her some food and she hasn't eaten it yet, so she certainly isn't starved. She drank a decent amount of water, but again, isn't acting totally dehydrated either. She certainly knows how to be taken care of and she's very playful.

Alert | You know I didnt even think about the whole describe her thing I will take the pic down. It definately doesnt show her features well at all.
As tigg said, she basically walked up to my house, because the kids were playing outside in the rain (my oldest and my neighbors kids) and she was right away very friendly, she had to have 5-6 different people pet her tons and she not once was nippy, growling or anything. I think she might just be more so roughed up from her little adventure from wherever she came from. I thought maybe she jumped out of a vehicle or something, but I guess maybe even the heat wouldnt have been good on her paws. If her owner isnt found she will definately make a wonderful family pet!
And thanks so much tigg for taking her in I couldnt leave her alone during the weekend at my house while I am in california, and my neighbors who have no pets were already taking my dog in while I was gone so theres no way they would take her in too. I just hope her owners look for her so she can get to those puppies, or someone will take her in she really is a very well behaved and friendly dog! I couldnt tell you what she is to save my life tho! | | Jody

Thanks and I'm sure I'll have a better idea of her breed when I get her scanned in the morning for the lost dog reports I'll make and to know if her owners call (I won't post it though until she's ready for adoption if her family isn't found).
