With all the homes in my area becoming empty and the remaining don't seem to do much for Halloween I was wondering if anyone knows a good nieghborhood to take the kids to. I know that Fry's has thier festival thing going on but my kids really like the houses better. Anyways I just thought I'd see if anyone out there had any ideas. Thanx!!

There's still lots of kids left in Maricopa Meadows.

I know this because I see them playing in the street. :-)

Nicole- found by some really great neighbor kids in Maricopa Meadows 1/3/08.

We're in RED and I've been really disappointed. The first couple of years were AWESOME- the Maricopa fire department was out in their trucks driving through the streets and talking to the kids, tons of kids out trick or treating, etc. I know it's easier to go to Fry's but it really takes away the fun. My house is really decorated and I hope there will be kids coming to our house. We're ready!

We missed the Haunted house contest this year, or else our address would have been on the map... Otherwise, we are in Alterra and will have some candy for those who make it this way

this is our first halloween in maricopa and we are hoping for kids to come to our house in tortosa. If not, I will have a lot of candy to eat by myself.

We will be taking our kids out here in Alterra....I've been worried about the same thing, I think we may be doing a lot of walking Some people (including us) did decorate for Halloween, so we will definitely give our little neighborhood the benefit of the doubt!!!

caligurl....do you live on mescal? Were you the ones that did your garage all up last year???

I will volunteer my services for leftover candy disposal.  It's tough, but somebody has to do it!

We moved into Alterra I believe around April, so no we are not on Mescal. We are closer to the South end of Alterra Parkway. If we had a 3 car garage, we would have done our house like we did last year. PM me, I will send you our address. Feel free to check out my hubby's display. This is his holiday and he loves to do the house He will be out tonight all ghouled up waiting for trick or treaters

Homestead has allot of kids in the neighborhood and they are new houses, all sold, so they aren't hit as bad by rentals or foreclosures.

Fry's Halloween Night was really, really well done. I was very impressed and had a great time... as did my kids. There were some great costumes and very home-town good feelings!

Kudos to the organizers!

We are in the south end of Alterra. My wife made up 50 bags and we gave them all out by 9. We then had several more kids come. Lucky for them the wife had a standby hoard available. In all we had from 55 to 60 kids come to the house.

Is Fry's where all the kids were? Last year, we ran out of candy toward the end, so this year I bought alot more. I ended up handing out handfuls to the kids that did come to the door just to get rid of the candy. This year was such a disappointment compared to previous years. I hope the tradition of trick or treating isn't trickling away. Let's keep the spirit of trick or treating alive. I hope next year is better.

Yes I think they were all at Fry's. I took my kids out and there was hardly anyone on the streets - it was sad! Only 1 in every 5 homes was passing out candy, there was even an entire block with no one home. I miss seeing all the kids on the streets in their costumes.

We had a lot more kids last year too. We made about 45 candy bags to give out, plus had candy left over to give out as well. Last year, I swear we had about 100 kids, but this year, we had a whole 11 kids.

I was wondering if because Halloween this year was on Friday, if maybe more kids were doing sleepover parties as opposed to going out trick or treating.

I do believe, Halloween is not at all like it was when I was a kid. Im only 34 and it just seems, trick or treating is no longer that big of a deal. then again, doesn't help much when in August, stores are already selling Christmas things, so maybe kids are now just focusing on that.

I did notice where we live in Tortosa, I think we were the only ones on our street giving out candy.  When i took our dog for a quick walk, I noticed maybe 4 homes in total, counting our home with lights on.

We're in Desert Cedars.  We made up 80 bags and gave out 78 of them tonight.  It was great to see them all but it was late so I'm thinking that they went to Fry's first and then went out trick or treating.

Wow! We were busy this year in Cobblestone. I gave out all my candy by 8pm and had to break into my emergency stash. Even that was all gone by 9pm. Probably 100-150 kids. We had a blast!

We had such a great time giving out candy my husband, sister in law and I enjoyed the beautiful weather and the nice trick or treaters. We live in Senita 3 and we had alot of trick or treaters. I was really impressed with the MPD driving around and making sure that the kids were safe trick or treating and with the polite trick or treaters.

We had an okay turnout- wished we'd had more, though. It made it worth it when a little boy who was maybe about 5 or 6 walked up and was looking around at our decorations and said (twice!) "Now THIS is what Halloween is all about!"
