 Alert | So Craigslist has divided Phoenix metro area in 4 parts. They are 1. Central/South Phoenix 2. East Valley 3. North Phoenix & 4. West Valley. That leaves Maricopa out. Maricopa is nor east valley nor south/central Phoenix. Where should one post now? I am going to write to CL folks to add Maricopa as it's own location in Arizona. What do you guys think? | | | |

Maricopa is not East Valley by any means. EV is Chandler, Gilbert, QC and some parts of Mesa. Cragislist need to add Maricopa as a separate town.

Nearly everytime, someone will respond to the add "I"m in Maricopa too, Can we meet at the I-10 and Dunlap" (or some other WAY far location) and I have to tell them "it's the CITY of Maricopa, not the COUNTY".

Now they have 4 sections for Phoenix metro area. But no section for Maricopa. If you put a post under East Valley you will be asked to meet at Power and Main !!
Maricopa needs it's own section. Maricopa is not east valley. I already saw some post for Maricopa under south central phoenix and some under east valley. So there is a confusion about this whole thing. | | | |

Alert | Of course we are not considered part of metropolitan Phoenix, Phoenix is in Maricopa County, we are in Pinal County and are seperated by the Gila River Indian Resevation from the Phoenix area. I know it seems like we should be considered part of the east valley as we do most of our shopping and entertaining (and work) there. But we are part of Pinal County and associated with Casa Grande. I wish it were not so, but the georgraphics dictate this.

Alert | Copa is EV. It is a part of Phoenix Metro, it was added to the council about what, a year ago or so. The reason it's EV? Not because of where it is geographically, but because of the transportation logistics. Chandler/Ahwatukee is the nearest and most accessable point to the 'real' metro area via 347. Riggs road running through the res at 25mph isn't exactly a major route.
As well... I think it's useless to create a new section for the city in CL. There isn't enough population here to make it worth while... and when you moved here you should have been aware you'd be doing traveling for things such as these. Just because gas is expensive now doesn't change that fact.
