Is anyone else's allergies driving them crazy right now?  For the last week or so my have been soo bad.  Every morning my eyes are almost swollen shut, and throughout the day they itch so bad I want to pop them out.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions?  Benydryl makes me way too tired and Claratin needs time to build up in your system.

The absolute best thing you can use is a nasal spray. I have had allergies my whole life, and now get allergy shots twice a week. Right now I use Allegra and Nasonex. It is this time of year that everyones allergies get really bad.

As for the natural approach..... You have to get honey from a local bee keeper. Put the honey on toast or something every morning and eat it. You will see major results in a few weeks and you will not have any more allergy problems if you keep doing that.
Your body will build up an immunity to the local irritants that are making you go crazy right now, no more allergies.
I think it is better then injecting some unknown substance in your body.
Best of luck!

I tried the whole honey thing and it didn't work for me. =( Guess it depends on what you are actually allergic too.

I was having a rough time w/allergies, until someone suggested using a Neti Pot. I went to Walgreens & purchased one, it worked like a charm! Hope you feel better soon!

What is a Neti Pot? I am so allergic to everything I need to live in a plastic bubble. I am supposed to get allergy shots, but it became a big hassle to drive into town twice a week for the shots.

A Neti Pot looks like a small watering pot, like you would use to water your flowers. You put salt water in it, tilt you head to the side and it flushed out your sinuses. I have heard that it was worked for many mnay people. Type it in a search on the internet, there are many many sites about them. It would probably help you out a lot.

Neti pots work really well, I just can't get into the habit of using it every day

I have used that. I just have a hard time remembering to do it everyday, plus purposely squirting water up my nose was not a fun thing to do.

You dont squirt it up there, it just kinda drains through. Just put in next to something you do everyday, like in the shower or next to your toothbrush, that way it will remind you to do it everyday.

For the best relief of allergies without taking chemicals!!!!

Use local Bee Pollen, which most bee keepers have in abundance.  Take 1 tsp. with your morning coffee or tea.

This is how it works.  The bees collect nectar and pollen from local plants (which can cause allergic reactions in humans).  The bees then return to the hive and in the process of creating the honeycomb the bee pollen is excreted.

I am an herbalist and recommended this for many clients in WA who suffered from hay fever/allergies with great success.  It is even safe for children!!!!

If you need a resource for local bee pollen search out a local bee farm selling honey and ask if they have it.  Honey consumption does not work as effectively as bee pollen.
