I really don’t understand the disparity. Call me crazy, but how can you blame the mail for late bills? You know you have received a service and you owe money, if it does not seem to have arrived in time be proactive. Ever heard of online billing or e-mail or calling the company?

And if your friends or family expect you to attend a event to the degree where they would be hurt by it, why would they only send a letter? Again a phone call or a email would just be too much I guess.

Standard mail is a dated way of communication, so if you are having issues be glad you live in a day and age where there is far superior methods to get information from A to B.

I agree with you on this. If someone was gonna be hurt if  you didn't show up to thier wedding they should also call and invite you also. If they got thier felling  hurt they need to look in the mirror to see part of the fault. If you are planning something that you fell is important send out your invites early and then follow up.

I've had many, many problems with mail "dissapearing".

But I'm not sure where to place blame:
with SW Gas because they said they mailed it and the post office must have lost it
or with the Post Office who says they deliver what they receive.

Who knows?

seeing as you were formerly employed by the Post Office, your opinion on them is suspect at best.

I am just happy for your coworkers that you didn't go "postal" on them, when you were fired.

Well nice try....... The job ,my education, my drive, etc gave me the opportunity to start my own business and have been very well off and very happy for over 9 years with such, just didn't need to make too much money  (greed gets you nowhere) and prefer to work for myself!!!!

Still loved the Post office job though!

My wife and I have also had problems with the Maricopa post office. We live in Tulsa, OK and have a second home in Maricopa in RED. Last year I sent a certified letter from my office in Tulsa to my wife in Maricopa. The certified letter included the insurance verification form for one of the cars we keep at our Maricopa home. My wife never received the certified letter. Ultimately, it was returned to my office by the post office. Shortly after I received the returned envelope I made a trip to Maricopa and delivered the insurance form to my wife.

I called the Maricopa Post Office several times to inquire about why the letter was returned. The Post Master stated that the carrier told her that they did not try to deliver the letter because we did not get that much mail!!

I would suggest that if you are serious about complaining about the Maricopa Post Office that you document your problems and call your Congressman's office.

We have also had issues recently. Last month we were going on vacation so I completed the vacation hold form online specifying a date for the mail to be delivered (since the post office hours are not conducive for people who work during the week). Imagine our surprise when we just decided to check the mailbox and discovered that the mail hadn't been held at all! Now, we just returned last night from a week in NY. Once again, we asked for the mail to be held while we were gone and delivered today. We come home from work and there's no mail at all!

Adversity does not build character - it reveals it.

I can days with no mail and then my box is overflowing. I also have had problems when I put outgoing mail into the box. Some recipients never receive it.
