New poll.

When will the first storm hit???

The way it feels out with the wind ,heat and humidity starting I think the freak storms are going to start soon.

What do you think?

Ok, I didn't see this post til after I posted in your other post. So, I'm going to re-post my reply...LOL

So what do you think about the new 'declaring' of dates for monsoon season, rather then watching for the 3 consecutive days of the dew point being 55+?

Personally, we have so little excitement weather wise I think they should have left well enough alone! Declaring monsoon season, ba humbug! I will still watch for the dew point!

As for when the first storm will hit...not until the beginning of July. The average dew point right now hasn't hit the 50s yet and the relative humidity is in the teens. We still have some time.

Of course now that I say this it will storm tomorrow and be the worst in 50 years!

July 4th for the first significant rain of the season. Maybe dust and sprinkles before then, but not much before.

Generally speaking, we won't see anything until July. I agree with Java Lover.

I agree with Java Lover also. Dew point needs to be in the mid 50s we haven't even seen any clouds over the mountains yet. The news is wrong about the start of the monsoon season. First part of July somethimes mid July

The bailout is wrong. We should not do it. My God this is the stupidest idea ever. Bush is stupid if he signs this. But he has done other stupid things

they changed it because apparently they were waiting for the phx dewpoint to hit the 55 plus mark for 3 consecutive days, while other parts of the state were hitting that mark earlier and so they wanted to include the whole state in the monsoon watch. doesnt really make a difference for me one way or the other. i will say the best spot for enjoying the benefits for summer monsoon storms, is up in Greer where they get afternoon rain storms almost everyday. wish i was there now as a matter of fact .....
