Kim & I (and our husbands) will be at Teakwoods in the bar area from approximately 6:30 pm to 8pm with the petition for everyone to sign against Headquarters opening an off track betting site for dog racing.
Please PM me or post here with any questions.

We will be having dinner, and have the petitions for anyone to sign. We cannot solicit for signatures, so you will have to come and find us. Happy
Thank you, and we hope to see you there!

I dont understand why people cant drive the extra mile and go bet at Harrahs????? Headquarters should remain a family atmosphere. We dont need betting in town when we have a casino down the road!

Its a bar on oneside, and a resturant cafe on the other. They actually have good food and decent prices. We are usually there once or twice a week.

Where is the petition to sign if you're not against off track betting at Headquarters? I'll sign that one.

Let,s see councilman seeking petition signatures requires him to excuse from any voting or excutive session meetings concerning council agenda item.  The law  is very precise Carl.

Put a tax on the betting and not raise the property taxes......

I realized this after the fact, and Carl WILL NOT be with us.

This is something Kim and I, along withy several other citizens are working on.

Carl IS NOT involved.  Therefore, he will be allowed to vote on this matter.

Conflict of interest is a zero tolerance issue in public office, be it city/state/federal. I would expect Mr. Diedrich to follow along the same lines as any other council person would.

I have to agree with this. I myself will not OTB, nor go to a actual race, but I am going to watch this closely. I cannot find any reason other then "heart pulling" based on spun statistics to not allow for this.

I agree put a tax on the betting and give Us a break on Our property taxes. Which are the highest in the state...

If Dog Racing offends you SO much, why not go after the RACING itself, instead of a local business?

Do you see the local business as an easier target than dog racing?
