So is this about helping a family in need or *again* bashing a local company and puffing up your already inflated ego at the same time, TT? I don't think anyone begrudges the Lakes for reaching out to the community and I can't imagine anyone here isn't moved by this little girl's story. I personally do not doubt the validity of this cause. IMO, however, it's incredibly poor form to ask for help then trash someone when they couldn't/didn't come through, and that's exactly what happened here. A "thanks" does not change the message that was delivered. If I were a local business owner, I would be incredibly leery of getting involved. My heart still goes out to the Lakes and I wish them the best in their efforts.

No, the poster did not remove. Here is part of the post, FROM ME.

Congratulations on the tournament being SUCH a huge success. It was great fun and everyone played exceedingly well.

Get ready for the Reiley Lake ANNUAL Golf Tournament we are putting together! John and Susan will be picking the recipient of the fund!

This family is a part of our ENTIRE community here in Maricopa. They have come to us, their neighbors, for help, and those of you who are choosing to trample on them, don't you dare come to us asking for help. It would be a slap in the face.

H&N Landscaping has stepped in to take over the raffle after some discussion. H&N staff live here in Maricopa, and they do most of their work here. They are one of the biggest supporters of every cause here in town. When you see their Scion Xb's driving through town it's not always driving to a job, it's driving to Fry's for food, or Bashas. What is most important here is to support local business, and to support your community.

Reiley is far from a cure, and for those of you who are doubters, communicate with Susan, meet Reiley, but until you step up and stop hiding behind your keyboard, don't make assumptions.

There are other families in need here in town, and we need to support all of them. There will be numerous fundraisers in the next few months and I strongly encourage you to attend them, these are not forum specific, they are all about the city of Maricopa and making a positive change.

All we read about in the media today is the negative about our beautiful city, the Americas Most Wanted criminal, the "gangs", the graffiti, but what we really need to do is start to create a positive image to the "outside" world. Show them that Maricopa can gather together as a community and take care of it's own.

From what I understand the local company in question came to the Lakes and offered to help out not the other way around. And if the local company could not come thru I would hope that they would contact SOMEONE to let them know that due to curcumstances beyond anyones control they are unable to help in the cappacity they had hoped. I don't think anyone would condem them....After all they were just trying to help out.

This post started out saying how well the Tourney went and was supposed to be a possitive for the community involment of our small town. It has now turn into a He Said, She Said. He Bashed, She Bashed. Lets get past all this and wish the lakes a succesfull trip and hopefully a diagnosis for Reiley.

Since the administrator of this site has decided to ban me from posting new threads, I can only post on my created threads. All because I thanked Tony and Jessi Tellez, wow. And because I questioned why she would keep removing his comment on this thread. So I had to modify it and post it for him.

Nice that we can be a "community" and and work together for the good of the community and not have it be about who or what forum.

So just to give an update, Reiley has still not been approved for the Doctor in Ohio and has been denied the doctor in Boston. I did find out the costs for the Boston procedures and doctors and we are looking at upwards of $10,000.

IF they do not approve Ohio, which we should know more by next week, we could be looking at cost between 30 and 50K. So, hopefully they will just approve it as there is no doctor in Arizona that can do this procedure. There are only 3 in the country.

I know people over here what updates about my daughter, since so many people are trying to help us help her. I feel that soon I won't be able to keep any of you informed, and it is a shame that it has come to such pettiness.

For as long as this post remains, if you do want updates about Reiley, I post very regulary on another local forum, where I am not banned, not attacked and where it's a true family. I can't mention the name of course, but it is MY community!! I also post updates daily on her website, www.caringbridge.org/visit/reileylake

I appreciate your love and support from those who have provided it. And for those of you who will keep us and Reiley in your thoughts during our journey in finding her a diagnosis and getting her the medical care she needs.

Susan Lake

I hope everything works out for you with the insurance company.  That sucks that you have to fight every step of the way for the testing your daughter needs.  You'd think it would be cheaper to actually get a diagnosis than to keep playing the guessing game.  But no one ever said insurance companies are smart!

Keep posting updates - if you can

OH, also Taylor Gowdy is still collecting cans. If you want to help out another child who is in need, she is working on her next kiddo. However, cans can only be dropped off at Stage Stop until July 1st. Please remember to put her name on the bag and make sure they put the weight up on the board. There are only 10 days left to drop off the cans at Stage Stop to help another little boy. Thank you!!!

How did she "bash" the forum?   It is obvious that she is not happy with the administration, but "bash" the forum?  I don't see it.

I believe she is just trying to update  and thank the people here who have been so supportive to her daughter & the cause.

just a quick update.
Those that worked on the golf tourney were so happy with the results and the help of the community that last weeks efforts are now being called "The first Annual Reily Lake Charity Golf Tournament"
Next year we are planning another evnent that will help another neighbor in need.
There is another that we have found that could really use help.

Let's see where it goes.

Thanks again to everyone that came to the aid of others.
