Okay, so I just checked the city website, hoping to find some more info on the commuter bus... hoping there might be another bus route...

Well, there is 2 routes starting up on 6/16, BUT... it is a "Midday" Mon-Fri route, only servicing the Tempe area leaving at 10am and going thru several areas and ending at ASU. Okay, so there is a stop at the Mills mall, BUT... you only have about 3 1/2 hours to get some shopping done or watch a movie, or if you an ASU student, maybe enough time to take 1 class a day?

I am thinking this is a way to help the parents whose teens are at home during the summer and want to go to the mall or something?

This is a really nice route....if they can offer it in the morning like the downtown PHX route, that would be great. It stops near some great places where the Phoenix transit is already set up and catching buses should not be too hard. I have tried signing up for the carpool, share a ride website, but no one has emailed me that can work with my hours. Is there anyone out there who knows who I can contact to give some input on how they create these transit bus lines? I know there is a transportation meeting, maybe that is the place I should check out... hmmm.

Well, on the bright side I guess, this will help those who get to stay home during the summer and it is one more step the city is trying to take in helping Maricopans have alternative options to drive. I did look into the Downtown route, but after taking the Xpress bus and then trying to catch the buses I need to get to my job, and then doing all again to get back home, well it makes for a lvery long day . I hope that others can take advantage of this.. I sure wish I could! Maybe if they can offer it during the weekend, then I wouldn't have to do the driving for a change!
