4 builders tied to Ariz. fined by EPA for polluting

Four of the country's largest home builders have agreed to pay $4.3 million in fines over claims that they repeatedly failed to take basic steps to prevent construction-site dirt and pollutants from contaminating the nation's waterways. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Justice announced the settlement against Centex Corp., KB Home, Pulte Homes and Richmond American Homes on Wednesday. All four home builders have a large presence in Arizona.
