Alert | I would have to disagree. I as an adult understand fully to respect someone else's private property. However adolescents do not think this way. I am not saying encouraging pranks is something that should be done as it falls under wrong in the "right and wrong talk." You can teach all the "Respect" you want, sometimes kids don't listen and make mistakes, grow and learn from them. I am guessing this is not a random act of toilet paper violence. I suppose that the parties responsible have "trespassed" before maybe even in broad daylight with the victim! I guess I am not giving the new crop of offspring these days enough credit for being model citizens of the future. However according to your post, since I have this crazy view, I must not understand how to stay out private property. I wish my parents gave me the book "Stay in Line: Respect everything and everyone." Nope, I had to grow up and learn that lesson on my own. I was a quick learner and didn't even have to do something stupid and get in trouble to learn it. But not everyone is as quick of a learner as I was. And what about the mother that is out the cost of six rolls of TP? Especially when in some countries you have to stand in line all day for one roll. All of you concerned citizens should start a fund for the economic loss of the one mother’s cleanup effort as well as the material loss for the other party. Maybe they could spit the earnings and buy that book. | | "Don't mistake lack of talent for genius"

Alert | If parents taught their adolescents values and to respect others property this would never have happened. Obviously those kids have pathetic parents. Its sad excuses for parents who chalk it up to 'live and learn'. Try being a better parent. Society will thank you.

Alert | | I would rather clean up the TP than the dog crap and cigarette butts that I constantly have left my front yard under the cover of darkness by a mysterious chain smoking dog walker. Not that this is related other than it had an odd similarity.

Good god Rich Tig you have already stated that you do not have children, yet you seem to have all the knowledge to raise one. Get a grip, the only one that is pathetic here is you. I have read many posts left by you spewing your nonsense and lack of an intelligent answer. Society will thank you if you shut up just for once. If you do not have experience do not claim to know all of the answers. On another note, I am very sorry for the people's home being tp'd. I for one would have gone and helped clean up the mess if I would have known where.

Alert | Gaaa!
As usual, blame the parents. Yes they are at fault.
However, people looking out for their neighborhood helps pick out the kids that have bad parents. Heck, it might even help protect your property.
The fact of life is there are always going to be bad kids in any area. There will always be parents that don't help them.
I do agree with anewman's assessment that this was a pretty low grade attack. The kids may have been stoned or drunk and hit the wrong house. LOL. No excuse, but this was not what it could be later.
On that statement, why don't we notice the houses here that are producing pot and meth?
Why? Because many people would rather gripe than look around at their areas. They would rather place blame than to do something constructive and proactive to change their area.
When a neighborhood deteriorates, in the end, it is ALL of the residents that are to blame. The means we only have ourselves in the end to blame. By that time, blame is pretty irrelevant.
Last night we had a carjacking. Do you think the parents of those fine, upstanding kids cared?
No! They do not. Do you think we should look out for this type of behavior?.......
Well, the answer to that depends on how much we want to get involved and help our neighborhoods.
Sorry for the rant. I am off the soapbox. Flame me as you need to. | | Let X=X

Alert | These pranksters didn't know what they were doing and have probably figured out that TP isn't as exciting as they thought it would be. I guess it sucks to clean up DRY tp, and I suppose six rolls is worse than one roll.
If they were really being malicous, they would have used eggs. Eggs are a much more effective method of really causing havok. Especially in this heat. I think they're cheaper too. They could have gotten 18 for $1.99 at the Chandler Costco.
I also find it interesting that you assume that it was kids that did it. It could have been your neighbors that were just sick of reading BOLD TEXT.
Heck, it could have even been the bored Police patrolling in your neighborhood. I'm sure they would have nothing better to do over there than TP your house. It's not like they're busy catching carjackers.
I've met lots of decent kids in this city and really doubt the majority of kids are as bad as some say. Yet, people keep saying how bad they all are. I guess the squeeky wheel gets the oil. Nevermind the good kids, lets focus on the bad kids.
There is nothing like armchair parenting. Though, I think you have to earn the title of Grandparent before you can do that. Its an unwritten rule.
I don't necessarily condone the use of TP or eggs for decorating other peoples homes, but do I really have to read messages from people whining about it? Until you have actual facts (other than the number 6, or 5am), or something useful to share with the group, please keep your baseless whining to yourself. The information you gave was pretty minimal and only confirms that you got TP'd before 5am. Based on this thread, I can't imagine why.
Good Luck.

I CHOOSE not to have kids as I know that my job and my attention span would make me a lousy parent. Very much like the parents of the vandals. It would be almost comical, if it weren't so sad, when parents throw their hands up and say 'kids will be kids'. Alert | I am so sorry luceee. I remember when a bunch of my friends go the idea to TP my parents house. I joined in on the "fun" and sonn the police were out looking for us. Yup that is right, one of the neighbors gladly called the police and we had to go back out that same night and clean it up. So I know how you feel about having to clean it up. I never did that again.
On another note, not too long ago, a friend of mine was visiting me for the first time. She was here only a couple of hours. When she left, her car had been strawberry jammed. THAT IS RIGHT, someone decided that one side of her car need to have strawberry jam all the way from the front to back. Whether it was kids, teenagers, or my adult neighbors, it was definately sad to see what kind of neighbors I have.
Don't let all these negative people put you down for venting. Almost everyone of them has vented about something or someone on here.
As for RichTig, I completely agree with you!! It's hard to admit because there are times I think you are an ignorant jerk. (Just being honest). I am a mother and if my son EVER did anything like these hoodlums are doing all throughout Maricopa, he would be in Marine Corp Boot Camp the next day learning to be respectful of other people and their property.
To all you people who feel the kids and teenagers down in Maricopa are perfect little angels, think again. We almost had someones perfect angel of a son as a hood ornament the other day because him and his buddies were riding skateboards down the middle of the street and without looking rode right in front of us. Good thing my husband was driving slow and paying attention. | | Proud Momma of 2 beautiful boys!!!
