I would have to disagree.  I as an adult understand fully to respect someone else's private property.  However adolescents do not think this way.  I am not saying encouraging pranks is something that should be done as it falls under wrong in the "right and wrong talk."  You can teach all the "Respect" you want, sometimes kids don't listen and make mistakes, grow and learn from them. 

I am guessing this is not a random act of toilet paper violence.  I suppose that the parties responsible have "trespassed" before maybe even in broad daylight with the victim!  I guess I am not giving the new crop of offspring these days enough credit for being model citizens of the future.  

However according to your post, since I have this crazy view, I must not understand how to stay out private property.  I wish my parents gave me the book "Stay in Line: Respect everything and everyone."  Nope, I had to grow up and learn that lesson on my own.  I was a quick learner and didn't even have to do something stupid and get in trouble to learn it.  But not everyone is as quick of a learner as I was.        

And what about the mother that is out the cost of six rolls of TP?  Especially when in some countries you have to stand in line all day for one roll.  All of you concerned citizens should start a fund for the economic loss of the one mother’s cleanup effort as well as the material loss for the other party.   Maybe they could spit the earnings and buy that book.      

If parents taught their adolescents values and to respect others property this would never have happened.   Obviously those kids have pathetic parents.

Its sad excuses for parents who chalk it up to 'live and learn'.

Good god Rich Tig you have already stated that you do not have children, yet you seem to have all the knowledge to raise one.  Get a grip, the only one that is pathetic here is you.  I have read many posts left by you spewing your nonsense and lack of an intelligent answer.  Society will thank you if you shut up just for once.  If you do not have experience do not claim to know all of the answers.

On another note, I am very sorry for the people's home being tp'd.  I for one would have gone and helped clean up the mess if I would have known where.

As usual, blame the parents. Yes they are at fault.

However, people looking out for their neighborhood helps pick out the kids that have bad parents. Heck, it might even help protect your property.

The fact of life is there are always going to be bad kids in any area. There will always be parents that don't help them.

I do agree with anewman's assessment that this was a pretty low grade attack. The kids may have been stoned or drunk and hit the wrong house. LOL. No excuse, but this was not what it could be later.

On that statement, why don't we notice the houses here that are producing pot and meth?
Why? Because many people would rather gripe than look around at their areas. They would rather place blame than to do something constructive and proactive to change their area.

When a neighborhood deteriorates, in the end, it is ALL of the residents that are to blame. The means we only have ourselves in the end to blame. By that time, blame is pretty irrelevant.

Last night we had a carjacking. Do you think the parents of those fine, upstanding kids cared?
No! They do not. Do you think we should look out for this type of behavior?.......
Well, the answer to that depends on how much we want to get involved and help our neighborhoods.

I have 18 years experience of being a kid, fyi.  I CHOOSE not to have kids as I know that my job and my attention span would make me a lousy parent.  Very much like the parents of the vandals.

It would be almost comical, if it weren't so sad, when parents throw their hands up and say 'kids will be kids'.  Little Johnny TPed that house, carjacked that blazer, broke the landscape lights or spray painted that Benz.
