06/02/2008 5:33 AM Alert

Went out at 5:00 am to put my trash out at the curb and guess what I saw? My entire front yard had toilet paper on every tree and shrub on my front yard. They attempted to even do my house but I guess they ran out of toilet paper after 6 rolls.
These kids in Maricopa need a good thrashing and should not be allowed out at night
. Police need to patrol the neighborhoods more. Nuff said!

Luceee that really stinks!!! Having your housed papered is such a mess. Try to look on the bright side of things though, at least it can be cleaned up. Kids will be kids, at least no major damage was done. Didn't you ever do stupid pranks when you were a kid thinking it was funny, not really thinking about how it would effect the other people. I agree that some of the kids need to be kept on a very short leash, but to have police patrol the neighborhoods more to nab kids playing harmless pranks seems like overkill.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!  6 WHOLE ROLLS!!!

Just shows the cost of fuel is affecting even the toiletpaperers.                      We never did less than 40 rolls on a single house growing up.

Do you have kids? If so it was probably their friends. Toilet papering is not a crime the police need to worry about it. 6 rolls is nothing to complain about in large bold text either.

Its a slippery slope these little degenerates are heading down.  They need a good beating asap.   These kids have pathetic excuses for parents and have no respect for other people's property.

If you people don't think this 'harmless prank' is that big a deal, then I expect you will be heading over to her house to clean the mess.

Luceee... Oh my God how terrible!  I'm sure that the fact that there was an officer involved shooting early this morning involving armed robbery suspects had nothing to do with the lack of patrol in your neighborhood!  It looks like our entire police force was tied up doing police work, but that probably wouldn't matter to you huh?  I'm just glad the officer is alright.   Gee whiz Luceee... get a life.

Forget I even said anything.

I'm sure this was done well before the 3:30 am shooting.  Knew nothing about the shooting before I posted my complaint. SORRY

Ignore that trolls. Since you are left to clean up the mess, it wasn't a harmless prank.

The teens out here do need something - parents.

Lucee - no, let's not downplay the fact that somebody trespassed in your yard and did something that nobody likes to deal with. Nobody deserves to have their yard tp'd and it's a pain in the ass to clean up. Those who are making light of it should be at your door offering their services if they feel such a prank is to be tolerated.

As a teen, I participated in TP'ing people's houses. At that time, it was kinda like a show of affection. We never did anyone's home we didn't know or didn't like. I'm sure the parents felt otherwise though. Not to make light of your grievance, but I'm with anewman on this one. Only six rolls shows the kids didn't really put their hearts into it. Do you have older kids?

HEy..... look on the bright side..... If you neatly fold all the TP you pick out of your yard you can use it.....You won't need to buy TP for a whole month!

As for pranks........ Let's just hope cow tipping doesn't catch on in the 'Copa....... that would be a huge mess!

luceee-

I wasn't meaning to be mean but like thick- we only teepeed our friends houses and on occassion even went back to help clean it up the next morning. Like I said- if you have kids junior high age or older it is probably their friends as part of school being over. Someon in the neighborhood probably had a sleep over the other night and those are the culprits.

There is much worse pranks we did too but I will not put those on here as I don't want to give people any more ideas.

I am sure it was a pain this morning but in a few weeks you will laugh about it.

PARENTS and anyone who thinks these type of "pranks" are harmless. They are not. The kids had to trespass onto someone else's property, littered, since it is impossible to get up all the paper, and can cause damage to plants, vehicles, etc., they TP. Get with it you parents, and others who think this is a harmless prank. If you think it is ok, then you clean up the mess, and spend your time and effort. It is much easier to throw TP up into a tree than it is to get an extension ladder out and get the TP out of plants, gutters, etc. You do not laugh about this at any time - even weeks later, as you are likely still finding bits of TP in your yard, and your neighbors yard.

I don't have any kids in school. They are grown. However, no one came and offered to help clean up. Thanks for your cmomments

Thought of leaving it up for that purpose alone, but my husband wanted it cleaned up ASAP, so we did. AT least the garbage can was close by to dump the mess.

This is just a childhood prank where by in large it is an annoyance but kids will be kids. If you are that bothered by the act then make your kid clean up the mess. It may make them think twice about the people they hang around. Or maybe they are getting bullied it’s all apart of growing up. It seems people blow silly things way out of proportion. By most of your arguments you all are going to tell me that if you have “that neighbor” that won’t keep up their yard that I should go do the work? Because you know, they are hurting the value of my home. That’s absurd. Nobody really cares until they are the one who has something happen to them. It caused a little extra work, not damage to anything. If it happened to your next door neighbor I would assume those people with the "This is a travesty" view would be the first people to line up and give you a hand after such devastation. No. I am guessing they would chuckle and go on with their day like most people but wait for the moment when they can fume on a forum. Take the bubble wrap off of everything people the kids could have done a lot worse. Let’s be sure to get out the pitch forks and torches for when those evil trash men knock over our trash cans and cause us to actually pick it up, all the while dodging dangerous trash particles that can destroy a neighborhood for weeks.

to TP somebody's yard has nothing to do with being a kid - it has EVERYTHING to do about being taught how to RESPECT. That's it - period. Anyone suggesting that it's OK simply is showing that they themselves do not know how to RESPECT somebody else's private property.

Teens are destructive little boogers.  Be glad they didn't do worse.

One time, I'd just laugh about it.  Second time, I'd be fairly annoyed.  Third time, I'd be ready to wring their scrawny little necks.
