What's the verdict on this home builder? Would you buy a home where there is lots of empty lots around.......maybe for a LONG time?

I am not an engineer nor a home inspector but I would not buy one since I know many of the homes sat unfinished and exposed to the elements for over a year.

I would buy, and contrary to popular belief, the homes are actually inspected and then whatever the inspector says needs to be replaced is replaced as far as the exposed homes go. I have a friend who bought there and can definitely validate that. They basically dont have a choice but to replace what the inspector says needs to be and if memory serves me right the city is involved in that aspect. I love the homes and I think its a great steal, too many people are passing them up because they assume that they are going to build the homes using the materials that were abandoned/exposed.

As far as no houses around, who knows what they will do with those bare areas

JODY, Frontier is the crapest builder aroud - they cut conners all the time. My house is a Tunner/Dunn and i glad it was. Even if the gave the homes away, i whould go smoewhere else. That how bad they replace them.

Do you have anything to back your statement or is it personal opinion Devil Dog? I would be very intrested to see what gave you the opinion you have. I think every builder cuts cornors and does things that would make some people call them crappy but that is opinion vs factual based.

Yeah we live in Frontier Homes. Well bought our house 2 1/2 yrs ago when it was Turner Dunn. There have been no problems with the Turner Dunn ones, but would NOT buy a Frontier. I have seen what has gone on with the homes that were exposed all that time.
They did a horrible job on the landscaping too.

Everyones landscape that is provided by the builder is less then par in my opinion. It doesn't matter what builder it is. They get a bulk rate to throw your yard together real fast. :-)

We also live in the Frontier area but built by T/D...We are concerned with what they will build once all the homes are sold...And they have one to go.. This Celebration series was to be an upscale residential area...Frontier has changed all that with how they finished the 40+ homes that sat vacant and the Landscape really shows the difference. Frontier wants to build a house that is is from my understanding, a french chalet with a Soutwestern twist..... What is that?...
We also have been through it all, since we came in Feb of 2006... Since there are not to many T/D homes wont that make them more valued down the road... Everyone likes the floor plans...As I understand Tanya Turner and her brother drew the plans for these house....
