Does the city of MAricopa spray our sewers for roaches? I know that when I live in Ahwatukee they sprayed once a month and this kept roaches down. THe reason I ask is I have noticed some dead around my house.. My bug guy seems to keep them from getting in which is good. If they aren't how do we get them to?

It helps but more than likely they are coming out of the plumbing vent in the roof.

It's wierd, we have been here for 4 years- we have had spiders, scorpions, flies, never any roaches until this spring. I found a dead one in my garage. A friend of mine noticed the same thing- a couple in her backyard she is over in Cobblestone.

We have had a few out here in Senita, too. The houses around me are vacant and I wonder if that is contributing to it.

They could be sand roaches..they don't really like making your home theirs..we live in Tortosa and seem to see them more often when the temps go up...either way though they ARE gross!!!

Either way I'm going to call the city Monday and ask. If anyone knows ahead of that let us know.

A few years ago I worked at a place that shared a parking lot with KFC. Apparently they poured too much grease down their drains and clogged them up and the parking lot was flooded with hundreds and hundreds of roaches crawling out of the manholes in the parking lot. Good times.

Ok so I called the city and spoke to a lady in public works. The city is not responsible for spraying because they don't maintain the sewers global water does. So I will be calling them and seeing if I can get an update. If anyone else wants to call here are their numbers... 520-568-4452
623-518-4000 I figure the squeaky wheel gets the oil...

Ok so I'm waiting for a call back from global water because no one there seems to think that they spray... If not they need to. Those things spread disease. Anyway, I found another az forum were they were talking about getting rid of them in scottsdale.. worth a look. http://www.city-data.com/forum/arizona/59611-s-roach-season-again-az-2-a.html

Ok so they called me back. They are sending someone to spray the sewers in my area. If anyone else is seeing them I would recommend you call them also and request they come spray your area.
