At around 7ish, plus or minus 10 minutes, I pulled into Express Stop "oldtown" to gas up and there were 4 MPD cruisers in the lot with like 6 officers standing around  As I started to pump, they all got in their cruisers and Hit their lights and sirens.  They left going North towards, "newtown"  As I stepped towards the main road to see where they were going, I saw 2 more cruiser pull in behind them with lights and now all 6 or so were headed towards RED.  This must have been the call. 

God, I hope we are not going to be a high crime zip code.  Come on people, what can we do?  

Maybe take our kids off ridelin, prozac, (just feeling helpless)

Is there a way to post the pics so they are big enough to see? I think if you use snapfish.com or something you can post a link to the pics so we can actually see who they are.

Maricopaken, I am just as concerned as you are about violence in my neighborhood. And to set the record, no I am not a parent of a teenager nor am I a teenager. With that said, be careful posting pictures of minors without the approval of their parents. What makes that any different from kids videoing other kids having a fight and posting it on U-Tube?
I would really like for MPD to spend more time around the park in the evening hours since it is a popular hangout for kids. It is also the time when families take walks around the neighborhood. I do not have to be caught in the middle of any of this with my 2 year old daughter.

Posting shots of minors is a very grey area. You do have the right to shoot photos of anyone and anything that is clearly visable in publc... With caveats. You can't shoot photos of inmates fighting fires, there are some restrictions on minors... But that is usually restricted more towards sexual predators and victims.

Either way, please make sure MPD gets the photos and acknowledges that they did. They don't tend to spend much time speaking to the community, or so it seems.

So, will it now be another 36 hours? LOL. The clock is ticking. 

Does everyone remember just before they caught the serial rapist what was going on? Groups of people had volunteered to go on armed patrols through neighborhoods in an effort to catch this piece of trash.... Maybe this would be a good idea here. I don't have this issue in my part of the neighbor hood.... but the copa isn't that large... this is everyones problem... it may be worth looking in to... Also i don't necesarily think fighting is bad... When it turns into people carrying weapons, or having 10 kids jumping one... that concerns me. What ever happened to people getting in a little fist fight and that being the end of it...
