we have a GMC diesel truck and my hubby and I are looking to switch to bio-diesel. does anyone here have any input for us?

back when we bought the truck, diesel was so much cheaper.  we haul a trailer to the dunes sometimes, and the diesel was more appealing for that.  we had heard that bio-d was cheaper and obviously better for the environment.

just looking for info.

thanks in advance!

Saw this website advertised on a truck out here in Maricopa....
http://www.azbiodiesel.com/

We have a diesel too, Ford.... The down side for me would be the limited locations you can purchase it at.

When we bought our truck diesel gas was like 1.25 a gallon! ha!

I have seen that truck as well, only the number on the back is to an engineering firm who has nothing to do with bio diesel. I may have wrote the number down wrong. The best way to get biodiesel is to set up shop in a garage where the veggie oil can be processed and saved in large vats. There are several web sites that offer parts and supplies as well as means to extract the used oil from eateries. There usually is a mechanical appuratus that modifies your vehicle to except the oil. The loss of power might interest you when pulling great weight. All in all, you have to make sure that they sell a conversion kit for the year, make, and model of the vehicle you drive. The tune of $2000 and up is the basic cost associated with what you are refering to. Some day the gas stations around here may offer biodiesel, for now 51st ave and Lower Buckeye is the closest station who sells it, other than Tucson. Good luck with it!
