Alert | | I think RED is the best because it has the quickest access to 347 and you don't have to drive through Maricopa to get home or to leave town. No stopping for the train and we barely hear the whistle blow. | | Despite All My Rage I Am Still Just A Rat In A Cage

Alert | Hind site...I would have hung out for the Villages too...They only major drawback of the Villages is the entrance's. The one on Smith Enke is getting worse and now that the school is on the other side then you will have that traffic to deal with (lived by an elementary school and it was BAD) OH that and they do have the "shopping cart people"....

Alert | I am VERY happy with Glennwilde. We have 2 pools, very closely located to Pacana, not too close to Fry's for Shopping cart problems but close enough. On the correct side of the tracks to not worry about the train, 2 ways to get to 347 (Honeycutt or Porter to Smith Enke). My neighbors are very nice (most evenings we are all outside socializing in someones driveway). Each neighborhood has thier own tot lots and grass areas.
All in all a very nice place. | | -- "Life is just a scrapbook waiting for us to put it on acid free paper"

Alert | I'm glad I selected the Villages. Of course, when I first came, AC and RED were the only other options. I like the villages for its amenimininnities(think finding Nemo). The shorter pkwy than RED. I believe the elementary school is an huge addition. Only my youngest will have the chance to go there, but it's close to home. If this school is like the other elementary schools, soccer practice will be an option. I'm hoping they add a full field like MES. There aren't any soccer field in the Villages.
The exits can be challenging. But, I understand there is a traffic control device thingy in the works for Smith-Enke. The south exit isn't too bad. The stop light at CG/MCH makes life easier when going 347 south. Yes, I could take Edison, but I prefer the South Exit.
Edison, is third option out. I use it when I go to the main drag.
My next preference would be Glennwilde for the reasons listed by scrapmom. It has a NICE soccer field :o) | | My answer WAS "NO" to Q#5 and Q#1. Proverbs 22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Speaking of shopping carts... On my way to work I watched a black pick up truck pull over and stash a cart behind the bushes on the mail road over there just down from Fry's.... Ever heard of walking the cart back over there??? You have a truck for crying out load drive it over there and dump it off. Sad....

Alert | I must put in a word for Fulton homes Cobblestone Farms. I live in the Crystal section and we have a good pool and great sports fields. First right turn when you come from Phoenix on AZ347 | | "What me worry"

Alert | Oh! That's easy... Maricopa Ghettos, of course. It's great here, never a dull moment.
We have the "Pot House" across the street, and Machedi fights just a block or two away.
We have a beautiful park with no grass, and a lovley pond, with fish...but not much water. We have Parvo though....and lot's of it!
Most recently there's been the addidtion of the Nazi graffiti...but it's that guys fault for parking his car in his own driveway, right?
I do miss the Funktown graffiti though...it'd be perfect if they could bring THAT back.
Besides, where else can you can give directions like...."go past the barn and cross the tracks. Then make a right at the pinata store. Keep going past the trailer park and Section 8..."

Alert | K2Mommy, thanks for the giggle. I needed that this morning!
I am going to 2nd Poobaa. When we were researching out here, we came during the day, during the night, on the weekend, and to us it seemed like a no brainer to buy in Cobblestone. We don't have to fuss with the train tracks, all the stop lights "in town" either coming home or going north to Chandler/etc. Very easy directions for others to come visit too "when you come to civilization and the palm trees, make your first right".

Don't have to be "old". Checked it out, at least one resident needs to be at least 48. No one under 19 allowed to be a permanent resident | | Love Comes To The Forest

Alert | | I love it in Homestead. We don't have to deal with the tracks, either, and unlike RED, Cobblestone, Villages, etc. there is hardly any traffic coming by here, so we don't have to deal with people cutting through, or backups right by our house. That's because there is nothing down here, lol. But we are still pretty close to 347, and it takes me 7 minutes to get to Fry's. We may not have a pool, but we have a few nice parks and a lake. It is one of the few communities I would recommend to people looking to move here.

Cobblestone farms has a soccer field, but the last time I was there, there were drainage issues. I remember looking at "the Cob" in its early development. Besides, I practically live at the rec center in the villages. From what I understand, the HOA dues are similar to other communites, but the Villages seem to offer more.(3 minutes to Fry's lol.)
I've been to Homestead. Yes, the soccer field.lol It's a nice looking community. It's not that far from Pacana. There is a new fire station nearby. | | My answer WAS "NO" to Q#5 and Q#1. Proverbs 22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender.
