I second the bug and weed mart!!!! that place is great! We have been buying our products from them since we've lived out here and haven't had a problem once...matter of fact, when one of the exterminator companies came around to sell us their service they asked me what I was using and accused me of using some crap from home depot...when I told them what it was he started laughing and said, "thats the exact same stuff we use, thank you maam, have a nice day" and left!

Next time there is a scorpion inside spray it with  really well hair spray( less toxic)    step on it , use thick fold of paper towel  or tiizers to pick it up  and dispose of it.  Tail can still stick you so be sure not toget in the way. If you are really good pinch the tail bulb between your fingers to pickit up.To check if there are more in the area place a damp towel or burlap  bag on the ground at night and very, very carefully lift it up check the bottom for critters. Do this early in   in the a.m.  Call any local externinator. My son made all of his spending money collecting scorpions for ASU prof. years ago. $1.00 each

The diatomacious earth DOES WORK.  You can get it at Home depot and all it is, is the real fine white powder that is used for pool and spa filters.  I use a large shaker like pizza hut has for their parmesian cheese.  You have to re-fill it alot.  Just sprinkle it heavely around the stemwall of your home.  It is harmless to children and pets.   NO CHEMICALS!!!    I live in the boonies and yes, you do have to re-apply when it rains, but how often can that be?  And it is dirt cheap compared to the chemical stuff at the do it yourself shops. and I do not like chemicals around children and pets.  If you have a real serious concern that there could be more,  buy some real large "SMOOTH ICE TEA GLASSES and place each leg of the babies crib inside one.  the scorpions cannot climb the slippery glass.  Also, pull the crib away from the wall as much as you can.  The most common scorpion out here is the bark scorpion, and they are usually found climbing walls, or as in your case at a source for moisture. the babies tub!  I even have found one inside my toilet bowl laping water, and I kindly obliged him with a "Flush"  Such a good feeling!  If there is a sting that does happen, immediately apply ice and call 911 for further medical treatment.   Don't ever assume, there is nothing to worry about.  I would rather they laugh at my "silly" phone call, than assume anything!
